24.01.2022 Andrew Foord getting it done in Whyalla with his TLR 8ight X Elite. Nice socks too!

24.01.2022 * Product Spotlight* Chassis flex is a fantastic tuning option for both the 1/8 and 1/10 line of TLR cars. Changing the flex can add or take away grip allowing you to tune to the surface that you're racing on. For the 8GHT-X Elite we have 3 options for flex tuning with the center chassis rib. The car comes fitted stock with an Aluminium rib (Least amount of flex), you can also run with no rib (Most amount of flex) or the optional carbon rib (Right in the middle). Personally ...I have found myself with the carbon rib installed 95% of the time, occasionally moving back to the Alu rib in very high bite, smooth conditions. If you're running on low bite or rough surfaces I would recommend playing around with the Carbon rib and no rib options, you will be surprised at the difference it makes. As always test and tune for your style to figure out what you like better for your track conditions and preference. Happy testing! Andrew

23.01.2022 Everyone loves some carbon! New Shock tool set for the 1/8 lineup are in stock now.

22.01.2022 For our Spektrum drivers out there. Some updates for various models.

21.01.2022 The official release of the TLR 8IGHT XT / XT-E overnight has us pumped! This car has been ripping up tracks in the hands of the pro team since the debut at DNC earlier this year. Most recently the 8IGHT XT took a win ahead of a stacked pro field at the 2020 PNB, with Dakotah Phend putting on a clinical display. TQ + Win + Fastest lap in the main shows great signs of the 8IGHT XTs potential at the highest level. Pushing the limits of value for money, the 8IGHT XT / XT-E inc...ludes all of the parts required to complete this in a Nitro OR Electric format. This means you have access to both classes with the purchase of just the one kit! If youre interested in this new kit then contact your Local Hobby shop to place a pre-order. ETA is currently September. https://www.modelflight.com.au/tlr-8ight-xt-1-8-truggy-race

21.01.2022 Phending. Great work Dakotah Phend!

20.01.2022 Rebuilding your 2wd with Dakotah! Every pro racer has a certain way they like to do things and from spending countless hours prepping for races, TLRs Dakotah Phend shares how he rebuilds his 22 5.0 Elite before big races. Thanks for sharing Dakotah! #DriveTLR

20.01.2022 TLR 22X-4. The H Bag! Rear diff. Rear diff housing installs in a similar way to the front. 5mm nut driver needed to installed gear. We heard some ppl cut the box wrench supplied in the kit down and used that. There is some shims supplied in the kit but not shown, they are for spacing the rear arms and removing front to back play. We used 1 each side for our build.

19.01.2022 ***Product spotlight - 1/10 Grip and Flex tuning, Stiffezel vs Soft, which one is right for you?*** On the TLR 22X-4 & 22 5.0 Elite cars (And some others in the 1/10 line) you have the option to change the stiffness of select plastics to better tune your car into the conditions. Key parts (IE Arms, Side guards, Waterfall etc) are offered in both a SZL and soft plastic. The Stiffezel version's are more rigid and offer more support with less flex. The soft versions give you the... exact opposite, less rigid and more flex. Changing from a SZL to soft plastic can drastically alter the handling and will really help get the car dialed in for lower grip conditions. Take the 22 5.0 Elite VHA rear arms as an example. If you're running in low to medium grip conditions then the soft arms will provide more flex and in turn more grip. If you're running on a high grip surface then the SZL arms will offer more support and rigidity keeping the car flatter, faster and easier to drive. We recommend experimenting with these options for yourself but generally with the Lower grip tracks here in AU we tend to run the Soft arms and in some cases side guards/waterfall to assist with grip. As always, experiment to find what suits your track best and more importantly you! Happy Racing! 10.01.2022 ***Product Spotlight*** How to lighten your stock race car! In the world of stock racing every gram matters, making your stock vehicle lighter can be a great way to increase its overall performance and improve the power to weight ratio. TLR has option parts on offer to decrease both the rotational weight and the static weight of the car. Rotational weight (IE Driveline parts) will assist with acceleration, braking and efficiency of the vehicle. Static weight can be used to tu...ne the car also, removing weight from up high will lower the centre of gravity and can be a significant advantage depending on the track conditions. Our resident stock guru Leight Cheeseman (Pun intended) has compiled a list of the parts (Part number included) on offer for both the 22X-4 and the 22 5.0 Elite that you may want to utilize in order to drop some weight from your cars. No amount of option parts will substitute tyres and practice, so by no means do you need all of these parts, but if you’re wondering what to change, then here is a list of items that will help! 22X-4 - Ultra-lightweight body and wing TLR230017 - Ring and pinion, composite TLR332083 - Internal diff gear set TLR332084 - HD titanium turnbuckle kit TLR334077 - Titanium shock standoff TLR336010 - Titanium ball stud 6mm TLR6030 - Titanium ball stud 8mm TLR6031 - Titanium ball stud 10mm TLR6032 - Aluminium M3 nut TLR336004 - Aluminium M3 flanged nut TLR336005 22 Elite - Ultra-lightweight body and wing TLR230013 - Narrow gear set TLR232072 - Complete ball diff for spec racing TLR232098 - SR Spec steel driveshaft TLR332073, use with TLR232098 - Direct drive system TLR332043 - Titanium shock standoff TLR336010 - Titanium ball stud 6mm TLR6030 - Titanium ball stud 8mm TLR6031 - Titanium ball stud 10mm TLR6032 - Titanium ball stud 12mm TLR336008 Happy Racing! 09.01.2022 ***Product Spotlight*** Spektrum Smart Batteries If you're in the market for some new 1/10 shorty packs for your TLR vehicles then why not take a look at the Spektrum Smart batteries? Offered in 3700mah, 4000mah, 5000mah and 6300mah capacities, all packs are 100c rated with 5mm bullets and are ROAR approved. The best feature (In my opinion) of these batteries outside of the performance is the self discharge system. The Smart batteries have the ability to begin an auto storag...e mode after a predetermined timeframe, that you set. On my personal batteries that timeframe is 48hrs, I charge up for racing the night before, then if racing is cancelled, rained out halfway or I just have a pack that's full when I get home, I know it will begin discharging by Sunday night. Keeping your packs @ storage voltage is very important to the lifespan and overall performance (Long term) of the battery. If you also couple this with the Spektrum smart charger then you get access to a load of info and tuneability with the batteries also, but if you just have a normal charger then you can still use this pack just like any other shorty. Please note that smart packs do use a different style of balance lead plug, this spade plug is unlike the regular 2mm bullet you find on most shorty's. Good news is that each pack comes with a charge lead, so you can either use that or transfer that spade plug to your own charger. Spektrum also make a charge lead with both connectors (2mm Bullet & Spade) so you can charge any shorty pack. Please see the links for batteries, charger and charge leads below, Happy racing! 04.01.2022 Along with developing race cars TLR have been working hard on providing more information about setup to the end user. This is not necessarily TLR specific and can be helpful regardless of the brand youre running. Check out the setup guide below and better understand how to apply changes to get your race cars performing better than ever!

04.01.2022 Setting your droop consistently and accurately is an important aspect of car setup. Droop has a dramatic effect on the performance of a vehicle and can be tuned to suit the grip conditions, track surface (Rough / Smooth) and driving style. For the TLR 1/8 cars measuring the shock length has long been the standard method of checking droop, but in search of a more accurate way to do so the team has moved to using a droop block. The droop blocks are 36mm high and the car will ...sit on these with no wheels on. You can then measure from the bottom of the wheel hex (Threaded section) to the surface of your setup board to measure the droop of that arm. This system gives a much more consistent feeling car and accounts for variations like arm wear or flex which ultimately change the amount of droop even though the shock length has stayed the same. 03.01.2022 TLR 22X-4. Centre diff build. TLR 332085 We got an optional centre diff built up for you. Comes with 78 and 81 spurs plus has 200K weight oil. Very easy to build. If you dont have a shock pump to remove the air bubbles from the oil we recommend you leave it overnight before final assembly. With the optional composite gears the centre diff is the 1 gram lighter than the weight of the slipper at 33 grams. Composite gears P/N TLR 332084.
