22.01.2022 Miss taking to the skies together? Me too! Good news.... Qantas designed a special scenic joy flight on board the 787 Dreamliner for those who just want to spread their wings no passport or quarantine required. Departing Sydney on 10 October, the ‘Great Southern Land’ scenic flight will feature low-level flybys of some of the Australia’s most iconic landmarks including Uluru, Kata Tjuta, the Whitsundays, Gold Coast, Byron Bay and Sydney Harbour. Bad news... the flight sold ...out in less than 10 minutes! It wasn’t a cheap hobby with prices from $787 per person for the 7 hour round trip! I understand other airlines around the world are offering similar flights including Singapore Airlines. I love the initiative but heh, my feet need to touch the ground, and I’m ready! Have a great weekend, Tracey

21.01.2022 An interesting video (needs volume) to end the week, there has been tears. Simply, I miss this! Have you ever arrived early to meet someone at the airport just to ‘observe the beauty of the arrival hall’? I have and I love it. Until we travel again........ We are travellers Going places takes us places Have a lovely weekend, Tracey #mtafamily #bestadever

20.01.2022 Please ’only’ get your information from legitimate sources - Be educated the right way and avoid panic or misinformation out there!

19.01.2022 I am entering this week and Christmas with a smile and will continue as this year ends. We are all still facing incredible times and decisions both within and out of our control, that play on our conscience. And the coming days, weeks and months will likely remain with the uncertainty of travel. However, whatever 2021 brings, I hope that we all continue to support, love and be empathetic to the ones around us. From the local store clerks, to your travel agent, GP’s, postman..., friends and family - to remember we are all in this together. We are all distanced from ones we love, jobs and wages have been lost, yet we continue to remember what’s important - the health of the ones who mean the most. Thank you to all my Facebook likers, clients, friends, family and my MTA family who have all held me up, whilst I have navigated my hardest professional year in my life. Thank you! So this Christmas, I will and hope you do too, enjoy, appreciate and love every single second of the day. And I think we are all hoping for the same in 2021 - clarity, peace, and the world coming together sooner rather than later. Merry Christmas and hoping for an incredible 2021 in the best way possible! Take care, Tracey aka Sugarplum Sprinklepants

17.01.2022 The latest with P&O and their sailing for your information! I'm looking forward to a new ship, especially making Brisbane its home and who knows, with the travel bubbles on offer, we may see some unique itineraries??? Have a lovely evening, Tracey

17.01.2022 If you live in UK or have family or friends over there looking for last minute gifts - I strongly recommend this store. It is owned by one of my close friends and they have been forced to close this week with the latest restrictions. This is a local family store, employs many locals and needs support during these times. I have many pieces from this store and I promise you’ll love every single thing.... I’m often asked for recommendations for stores in UK for gift ideas, so here’s my one for last minute Christmas. Support local, even in the UK! Please share this page and let’s keep small business supported. Take care, Tracey

17.01.2022 We’ve made it - end of Term 3 which has felt very long! This School holidays one of my colleagues here at MTA is excited to share her pics of her Staycation! She created a resort, right at home for the holidays. Kids will be home any minute..... Did someone say it’s cocktail hour? ... How fantastic of an idea!!! Have a sensational break everyone, Tracey Update: Kids came home and we’re super excited at the thought of their Staycation. First thing, they wanted to crack open the cereal Credit: Kimmi from MTA Travel

16.01.2022 Today, I am so grateful for friends, family and clients checking ‘R U OK?’. The travel industry is definitely one of the hardest hit, and the hits are aimed directly at travel agents. The stress is unmeasurable from one day to the next! However, I am supported by an incredible tribe - my MTA family, my own family, my beautiful friends and my incredible clients both old and new who have stood beside me to make sure ‘I will be ok’. So, I’m lucky! And I know it! ... Today, isn’t just about how incredible vulnerable people are in this pandemic, it’s about how people are full stop! I love this day - we all know that as humans we should check each other is ok every day. But we don’t, and that’s life. But today gives us the nudge to flood our Facebook, and other communication tools just to remind those around us that we are there. And I am here, as your agent and friend. Thank you to all that reached out yesterday, today and tomorrow and please know that myself and the rest of the MTA Family are here for you too! Take care of yourself and others, Tracey #mtafamily For more information on RUOK, please click on this link: https://www.ruok.org.au/

13.01.2022 I’ll take it! If it’s safe and for the best healthy interests of everyone! See you soon Byron.... Latest release: BREAKING: Queensland’s border zone will expand from 1am on Thursday, October 1 to include Byron, Ballina, Lismore, Richmond Valley and Glen Innes council areas. ... Border residents can apply for a border pass and travel around Queensland for any purpose, and Queenslanders can travel to those places as well.

12.01.2022 Looking forward to my next visit to Disneyland. My kids will especially love it!

11.01.2022 Just a reminder that Australian travel agents have successfully been able to get clients in and out of Australia, there continues to be limits on arrivals into Australia and flights are being cancelled or offloaded multiple times. These limits are set by the Australian Government, in order to manage quarantine capacity. There is very little the airlines or agents can do. Rules may change but I thought this link may be helpful to understand as I think it is imperative for us... all to be ‘educated’ about the industry rather than relying on media outlets. Have a lovely evening, Tracey [https://www.pm.gov.au/media/national-cabinet-7aug2020](https://www.pm.gov.au/media/national-cabinet-7aug2020)

10.01.2022 Because we all need a smile and laugh..... Actual complaints by travellers (not MTA clients I might add): 1. I think it should be explained in the brochure that the local... convenience store does not sell proper biscuits like custard creams or ginger nuts 2. It’s lazy of the local shopkeepers in Puerto Vallarta to close in the afternoons. I often needed to buy things during ‘siesta’ time this should be banned. 3. On my holiday to Goa in India , I was disgusted to find that almost every restaurant served curry. I don’t like spicy food. 4. We booked an excursion to a water park but no-one told us we had to bring our own swimsuits and towels. We assumed it would be included in the price 5. The beach was too sandy. We had to clean everything when we returned to our room. 6. We found the sand was not like the sand in the brochure. Your brochure shows the sand as white but it was more yellow. 7. They should not allow topless sunbathing on the beach. It was very distracting for my husband who just wanted to relax. 8. No-one told us there would be fish in the water. The children were scared. 9. Although the brochure said that there was a fully equipped kitchen, there was no egg-slicer in the drawers. 10. We went on holiday to Spain and had a problem with the taxi drivers as they were all Spanish. 11. The roads were uneven and bumpy, so we could not read the local guide book during the bus ride to the resort. Because of this, we were unaware of many things that would have made our holiday more fun. 12. It took us nine hours to fly home from Jamaica to England. It took the Americans only three hours to get home. This seems unfair. 13. I compared the size of our one-bedroom suite to our friends’ three-bedroom and ours was significantly smaller. 14. The brochure stated: ‘No hairdressers at the resort’. We’re trainee hairdressers and we think they knew and made us wait longer for service. 15. There were too many Spanish people there. The receptionist spoke Spanish, the food was Spanish. No one told us that there would be so many foreigners. 16. We had to line up outside to catch the boat and there was no air-conditioning. 17. It is your duty as a tour operator to advise us of noisy or unruly guests before we travel. 18. I was bitten by a mosquito. The brochure did not mention mosquitoes. 19. My fiancé and I requested twin-beds when we booked, but instead we were placed in a room with a king bed. We now hold you responsible and want to be re-reimbursed for the fact that I became pregnant. This would not have happened if you had put us in the room that we booked. 20. We bought ‘Ray-Ban’ sunglasses for five euros from a street trader, only to find out they were fake. 21. While staying at the Game Lodge overlooking a water hole, we spotted a visibly aroused elephant. The sight of the animal ruined my honeymoon by making me feel inadequate. Have a great day, Tracey

09.01.2022 This will be the start of our new normal with flying.....

08.01.2022 Ever wondered about the experience with the Penguins on Philip Island? I did this with my family a few years ago and it was incredible.... and cold! The night was long but we were rewarded with these beautiful little penguins waddling right near us. If you haven’t done this, definitely put in on your bucket list! And until we can travel again, check out the live feed tomorrow, 25th August at 6pm - the prestigious penguin parade. I guarantee you’ll smile and love it! Hopefull...y see you there. Stay safe, Tracey
