The small historic village, run by volunteers, will take you back to a time when life was slower and give you a look at the day-to-day lives of the pioneers of this beautiful paradise. 15.01.2022 We would like to share the story of the Tamborine Mountain Heritage Centre poppies. Last ANZAC Day, a very creative volunteer at the Centre (Jan Bates), came up with the idea of attaching knitted poppies to the fence at the Centre. She enabled many clever hands and so 700 red poppies were knitted and attached to the fence. Forward to Armistice Day 2018 and the poppies were repurposed to become the centre piece of our Armistice Day display. ... Jan hadn't finished with the poppies yet, so she devised the next life for them, and single-handedly produced the large poppy which is currently attached to the fence. Blessed to have wonderful volunteers at TMHS. Discover Tamborine Mt Tamborine Tamborine Mountain Tamborine Mountain Visitors Information Centre Visit Tamborine Mountain

15.01.2022 Tamborine Mountain Heritage Centre has a new addition to its village. This beautiful, heritage listed slab building has had a wonderful journey from its original home as the kitchen on a dairy property to the "School" at TMHS. Come visit and see what the talented volunteers at the Centre have created. Open 10.00am till 3.00pm Saturday, Sunday and public hols.

13.01.2022 Due to the unfavourable weather conditions today, Tamborine Mountain Heritage Centre will remain closed to visitors. We will be open next Sunday 20 December 2020 from 10.00am till 3.00pm.

13.01.2022 As Volunteers Week 2020 comes to an end, I would like to pay tribute to the wonderful band of women and men who keep the "wheels' of the Tamborine Mountain Heritage Centre turning. While we have not been able to open to the public since the restrictions came into play, we are waiting for the day when we can "throw open the doors" and welcome people back to our fabulous Museum. Meanwhile here is a story I hope will be of interest, and, when you visit, you can check it out.... ******** *********** ************* ********** The heliograph used by Ernie Curtis, to train as a signaler in the lead-up to World War One can still be seen in the Tamborine Mountain Heritage Centre. Ernie was proud of the skills he acquired, having achieved high marks in his exams. Flushed with success in March 1918 he wrote home: You have the heliograph and stand slung on your shoulder, you put it up, align it, put the spot on and keep it on while sending the message in morse code at a readable speed, take it down, pack it away and sling it on your shoulder all in four minutes. It is easily done with practice I can do it with time to spare. This, and many more interesting historical items are on display at the Tamborine Mountain Heritage Centre, 85 Wongawallan Road Eagle Heights (just around the from the Fig Tree Roundabout).

12.01.2022 Come one, come all...to the Tamborine Mountain Heritage Centre. Yes, we are open this weekend 26 & 27 September 2020. A visit to the Centre is a walk through Mountain history and not to be missed. Open from 10.00am till 3.00pm we are located on Wongawallan Road about 500 metres through the Fig Tree roundabout at the top of Gallery Walk. It is a beautiful day, come and visit.

09.01.2022 Tamborine Mountain Heritage Centre will be open to the visiting public this weekend 19 & 20 September 2020 from 10.00am till 3.00pm. Situated on Wongawallan Road, approximately 500 metres from the Fig Tree roundabout, the Heritage Museum consists of 9 beautifully restored buildings housing many aspects of Mountain history.

09.01.2022 The Heritage Centre will be closed to visitors from this Saturday and Sunday until further notice. As a duty of care for our volunteers, we have made this unfortunate decision. We will advise when our doors are once again open, and of course we will welcome everyone once again to our wonderful little Heritage Village.

05.01.2022 Due to the Premier’s lockdown from this evening, Tamborine Mountain Heritage Centre will be closed to visitors this Sunday 10th January 2021. Please check this page for any further updates on re-opening or (heaven forbid) extended closure. Our apologies for any inconvenience to your plans to call in and see us. We look forward to seeing you when restrictions are lifted.

03.01.2022 With the help of a recent GCBF grant, history buffs can now step back in time to an early 1900s school room at the Tamborine Mountain Heritage Centre. The proje...ct of dismantling and re-erecting the original slab hut piece-by-piece was a labour of love, but we think the finished product looks great. We hear the new addition has already created plenty of local interest, and was also featured in a recent edition of the Tamborine Bulletin. Well done to the Tamborine Mountain Historical Society! 02.01.2022 Heritage Centre Opening Update Due to the most recent Queensland COVID-19 related events, the Tamborine Mountain Heritage Centre Committee has made the difficult decision of keeping the Museum closed from this weekend until further notice. This decision has not been made lightly. However, it is based partly on advice provided by Health officials and also in consideration of the volunteers at the centre. We plan to be guided by forthcoming advice and make decisions regarding future openings later where we will welcome you all back to our beautiful museum village.
