09.01.2022 Day 3 Varanasi Today we walked down the lainways to the main road & only got lost 3 x The main road is like most city streets busy But we had a look around & found the ATM that we went for On our way back through the lainways again i could hear a noise that sounded like looms going a man came out from a dark door so i asked him is this a weeving factory he said yes would you like to look ... Of course i said yes lol Inside were 3 workers using the electric looms making silk on 2 & cotton on the others We gave them all a small tip for showing us there work place the young men very shy & said no but i gave anyway Next stop was finding the river again & headding to the main square Meeting our Guru again And given another blessing This time lighting a floating candle with flowers All in a recyclable container India is trying very hard to ban plastics & no composted goods From here was time to find coffee & relax a bit

02.01.2022 DAY 2 VARANASI Today we did a walking tour of the old lane ways of varanasi We met a local the night before, he explained so much to us about the cremation ceramoneys & why its so important to the locals ... So our adventure started at 10am starting of course with chai tea We wandered through the narrow streets learing about each temple , why it was built & how We got to see the well of Shiva & learned of its story We got to see the leaning monument & the story of it We learned about the nomads that live on the sandbank on the other side of the river & of course had more chai tea We also had some local snacks & lassi drink We sat in buildings older than time And climbed to the top of the mosque were we could see the whole city from On our way back to our hotel Which is by the way an old palace we met our Guru gi He gave us a mini blessing that was lovley again throughing flowers into the Gandhi While chanting In this town there is so much history & so many transitions all beautiful to watch Iv learned Saturday's are lucky to marry And Sundays is family day were many swim in the Gandhi knows as Gunga to the locals
