16.01.2022 RUOK? | During and after the bushfires, Toast was a place to catch up, share our experiences and reconnect. Performing that role in our community gave us purpose during an otherwise scattered and traumatic summer. . COVID-19 has hit harder with respect to social interactions and our ability to gather, celebrate and keep up with our routines whether it be mums groups, yoga, or meeting for a coffee. We've seen our community fracture slowly. We became disjointed. We suffered in... silence. . It's only now that some of us here at Toast, are reflecting on the mental health impact. You know to look out for others. But do you notice what's going on with yourself? It's a slow burn. And you hardly see it creeping in when you're distracted by the day to day challenges this has all brought with it. . In the past month, we've seen how you linger longer for a chat when getting your takeaway coffee, How your faces light up when you meet at your table with that friend you haven't seen in ages. We've seen you relish in reigniting your social lives. We crave connection. And we've been missing it dearly. . It's the best thing about being a cafe: Seeing the gentle flow of familiar faces coming and going, and providing a space for their little moment of self care. . 14.01.2022 SAVE THE DATE // We kicked off our monthly dinner events last Saturday night. It was so much fun. Margies were flying out fast and the four course menu left smiles all-round. . Once the menu was announced, we booked out within 48hrs, ten days out. So for everyone keen to hit up dinner at Toast, Save the Date Saturday 20 Feb. And watch this space. . 13.01.2022 Happy Father's Day to all of the Dads out there doing an amazing job. Especially to Toast Dad Ollie, who's 2020 has been made so much brighter with the arrival of Sofi in February. Being a parent is a big deal. Now we get it!! . Also a little shout out to Dads around our country who are spending this day in isolation, and kids who would love to see their Father's but can't.
