14.01.2022 Repost from @cookingcharmaine How wonderful is Paella? This arroz a la paella (rice with chicken and seafood) from the Philippines paired perfectly with a tempranillo from @tobinwines. The book has recently taught me that the Philippines is rife with food with Spanish style flavours. Who doesn't love a massive pan of paella for feasting and sharing? 08.01.2022 Repost from @hungotti One of Granite belt’s best kept secret. Charming owner, awesome staff , stellar wines.

05.01.2022 Repost from @_walk_the_wine_ #131 2011 Tobin’s Isabella Aged Semillon. Authentic style and sophistication. Only in the form of wine. That’s what Tobins Isabella aged Semillon delivers with minimal effort.... Super tight on the nose with citrus, stone fruits and a toasty and nutty finish. A generous and creamy palate, dealing up some complex and smashable flavours. Ripe stone fruits of peach and apricot, citrus and a spiced baked apple finish. A real premium feel in each glass. Waxy and oily, though still hitting back with tight acidity. Essentially, liquid gold, we think sums it up to a tee. Whilst 2011 is now gone, they are stocking their 2013 and 2104 vintages - to book in a tasting at there winery on the pristine Granite Belt, be sure to email [email protected] Happy drinking See more

05.01.2022 Posted @withregram @qwinereviews The Granite Belt doesn't have a flagship variety but Tempranillo has really taken to the district. There are some fabulous expressions of it, and perhaps, this release from @tobinwines can press claims for the best. I must admit, it is hard to recall a Tempranillo with such evocative and attractive scents. Black olives, purple flowers, potpourri and cola send my mind to higher places. So captivating from the outset yet they open up further m...ore with time in the glass. Black cherries, licorice, black plums, some char and cured meat slowly unfurl through the mouth. That cola element keeps ticking away with an absolute subtle cured meat presence plus a drop or two of soy. Delicate and dangerously smooth, its silky feels are dangerously moreish. Earthy to close with a touch of firmish tannins, this is all class. Bravo! 95 pts See more
