24.01.2022 Would you like your horse to be happy again? Your horse will LOVE Rose-Hip Vital Equine <3 "I turned Tatta out for about 4 months, took his shoes off, he was fi...ne. When I started bringing him back into work he was lame.I got him shod, still lame. Had the chiropractor out, still lame. Then we went to the vet for x-rays which showed early stages of navicular. Vet suggested cortisone injections and corrective shoeing. One injection once a week for 4 weeks and then once a month after that. He had a total of 5. They hardly helped. Then I got Rose-Hip Vital Equine after seeing before and after videos on Facebook. At the 3 week mark in the video I was still half way through my first 1.5kg tub. He now has wedges on and rubber wedges in between the hoof and the shoe (he always had wedges on in the past). I was ready for his early retirement; he was starting to look and feel like a garden ornament. Back riding after 6 weeks, I am ecstatic, he is feeling great."

07.01.2022 I am your farrier....I drive backroads every day looking for you and your horses. I argue with the GPS lady about which turns to make, how far to drive, where t...o go next. I touch hundreds of horses and I love them. This farrier thing is much more than my job, its my life. I do more than nail shoes on your horses feet or trim away excess hoof. I train them, help them be confident, assure them life will be okay. I am the guy who is the first line against poor performance or unsoundness. I work hard to make your horse and you comfortable, sound, and happy. I pet your dogs, play with your kids, compliment your barn. Ive helped you catch horses, worm them, give them shots and not once did I charge your for these little extras. Im happy to help. My hands are scarred and rough, yet gentle and kind. Sometimes I bleed for you. My knees are pocked with hundreds of tiny nail holes and yet you never know I hurt or Im sore and stiff and tired. I would keep working under any conditions because this is more than my job or my work, its who I am. I see happy, well cared for horses with bright sunny stalls and I see horses mired in muck and urine. I work with healthy, happy horses and horses who have given every ounce of their heart and soul for your pleasure. Sadly I also see horses that, through ignorance or neglect, are misused, abused and unhappy. Some days I have to bite my tongue and some days I speak my mind about how you treat your horses. I am your farrier. Ive watched your kids grow, Ive seen your life bloom. Ive been there when tragedy struck and when you experienced the happiness I wish for you always. A warm or cool dry place with level ground is all I ask for most of the time. For your horses to stand quietly and to be paid on time. When you think of me, think of the long hours, the hot days, the rain and wind, think of the good things Ive done for you and your horse. Think of me as a professional. Think of me as a caring, sincere person who truly wants the best for you and your horse. Youve never paid me for the nails I drive or the steel I shape, you pay me for the knowledge I have. I thirst for that knowledge and I hunger to apply that knowledge. I am proud of what I do and my vow to you is this, I will try hard to be better tomorrow than I was today. 05.01.2022 HOW CAN YOU TELL IF YOUR HORSE NEEDS THE DENTIST? Courtesy of Samantha Gunter Equine Dentistry, servicing South East Queensland and Northern NSW Horses are incredibly stoic animals. They will put up with an immense amount of pain before displaying even the slightest discomfort. For this reason, the symptoms I am going to outline in this short post are really the outcome of months of pain and discomfort, so even if your horse demonstrates none of these but you know the denti...st hasnt been out for a long while, or youve recently acquired a new horse, I recommend you have your dentist out. Many dentists will be more than happy to fit your horse in for a check up as conveniently as possible and you can know for sure that your horse isnt living with a mouth full of lacerations and sharp points. Common Symptoms in paddock: - Dropping feed. - Hay cigars (poorly masticated hay being dropped from mouth as unable to be swallowed). - Blood in saliva (from lacerations in mouth). - Washing mouth out with water. - Slowly eating or losing appetite. - Colic. - Choke. - Awful smell from mouth or nostrils. - Nasal discharge from one nostril (usually smelly). - Unwilling to eat carrots and apples. Common Symptoms under saddle: - Shaking head. - Unwilling to take the bit. - Unwilling to turn or flex one way in particular. - Unwilling to come round or take the contact. - Chewing on the bit. - Hard mouth. - Reactive response to contact (indicating unusual pain). - Excess salvia or frothing. - Frothing tinged with pink (indicating blood from the mouth). From the picture it is possible to tell why a horse might not want to flex or turn one particular way or drops feed because every jaw movement digs further into their cheek.
