We welcomed our valued male figures in the childrens life to come and celebrate a day for them! We had some yummy food together ,watched a special show from a magician ! 22.01.2022 The benefits of outdoor play Playing outside is fantastic for helping children practise their physical abilities. Exercises such as running, jumping, skipping and playing ball games not only strengthen little muscles, but they can also help with gross motor skills, hand-eye coordination and overall health and wellbeing. 18.01.2022 Spring has Sprung Today we ventured out into the yard with our watering cans to give our beautiful plants a much needed drink in order for them to grow! During this experience we spoke about Spring and what happens to our flowers and plants during spring. We spoke about seeing lots of flowers and birds around as well as the Sunshine shining through, warming up the weather ... 15.01.2022 Over the weekend we had one of our preschoolers do experiments at home! Khyler then decided to share with his friends the excellent experiment ! So khyler and a couple of his friends helped their educators to prepare the experiment then walked around the yard finding things that would sink or float. The children grabbed things like, blocks, leafs, pencils ,paddle pop sticks, a plastic bag ,a ball & a Jar just to name a few. Look at some of our awesome snaps ... 14.01.2022 EARTH DAY ! Today at toddlers and Co, we learnt about the earth & how we can protect it ! The children at Toddlers and co turned the lights out for 1 hour, we spent lots of time outdoors , read books about the earth, we watered the plants and made sure they were happy and healthy & we even listened to songs about the earth!! We also done some awesome artwork to show how much we love the earth !!! ... 12.01.2022 We are very excited to let everyone know we have new friends at Toddlers and co. For the next two weeks we will be part of the learning program called hatching chicks. During this time we will learn the lifecycle of a chicken and duck. We will watch each egg hatch in an incubator and then transfer the chicks and ducklings into the cage and under a heat lamp. From there we will watch our friends grow and play. ... We have started off with 8 chick eggs and 4 duck eggs. Our chick eggs will hatch all the first week and our ducks will hatch next week. We are very excited to learn all about the ducks and chicks. Come and check them out in our preschool room! They are the cutest! See more
11.01.2022 Anzac Day is a national day of remembrance held in Australia and New Zealand on 25th April every year. The day commemorates the soldiers who served and died at Gallipoli in World War I. Here at Toddlers and co, we have been remembering our soldiers by making Poppies, listening to the Ode, and taking moments of silence to remember our soldiers thats fought in the war for us. ... 10.01.2022 Because todays the day the teddy bears have their picnic Every year in the 10th of July, communities come together to celebrate, with their Teddies as well as their families having a picnic. This can also be a day to raise funds for the live-saving work of the childrens hospital at Westmead. This year we all brought our teddies to celebrate this beautiful day with our friends, we all sat on picnic blankets with our sandwiches as well as our teddies, we had the ...best time laughing and making beautiful memories with each other. She spoke to us about how people all over the world will be fasting from sunrise to sunset which means they wont be eating all day! But at night they get to eat lots and lots of yummy food! 10.01.2022 Gardening our way through Wednesday. Today We repotted our orange tree!! We used our fine motor skills as we moulded the soil and plants to make them comfortable. 06.01.2022 Today our Educational Leader, Renae and our Early childhood Teacher Dalia, accepted a wonderful ,educational gift from Woolworths Cecil Hills. We were gifted with our very own Woolworths discovery garden. With this garden we will care for our herbs and plants teaching the children the importance of caring for our environment and learning about sustainable practices from an early age. We will water the garden , check how much they have grown each day & check for pests. ... The children then will make a daily observation on their very own herbs. 03.01.2022 GERM EXPERIMENT & CORONA VIRUS Today our preschoolers were super interested and excited to do an experiment prepared by Miss Eman.... But first we had a little discussion with the children about the corona virus and how to keep it away. Following on from Children hearing it on the radio and television. (see attached the resource we used) We had a lovely response from the children with already a lot of knowledge First we got a plate full of water We added some pepper to the plate full of water. (the pepper represents germs) Then we got another bowl.We added some soap to the bowl. Miss Eman explained to the children that the pepper inside the water is pretend germs. First we tested it out, we wanted to see what happens when we put our finger in the water and pepper . Turns out the germs quickly moved towards the finger and stuck onto it!! Then we decided to stick our finger in the soap first, then into the water and pepper. Turns out the germs quickly moved away from the soap and water. The children then soon discovered that if they wash their hands with water AND soap it will keep the germs away.
02.01.2022 Look at our awesome centre grown Mini eggplants ! Lately the Children from Toddlers and Co, have been carefully looking after our vegetable garden! Today we picked lots and lots of eggplants! We spoke about the importance of watering the plants so they can grow, we also discussed plants needing lots of sunshine in order for them to grow healthy and happy. ... We cant wait for our onions, cucumbers and capsicums to sprout!
