State of the art vehicles are meaningless unless there are trained, disciplined and valid license holding truck drivers. ... *The key words are "trained, disciplined and valid license holding truck drivers."* Fake licences. unschooled drivers and indisciplined force are the generic norm in the Indian transport ecosystem. Fake licence issue is being addressed by the govt through digitization whereby a single person cannot hold more than one. Slow process but a work in progress. DTIs are there of late, but fresher enrolment is nothing to gloat over. And the concept of discipline is alien. Mostly because of drivers social background coupled with societal indifference. Partly due to the lackadaisical attitude of motormaliks as well. Sensing a business opportunity to supply vetted truck drivers to the transport ecosystem, TransportMitra is making an entry in this sphere. Currently it has undertaken a project to supply 100 plus drivers to a fleet owning corporate. Yes, these drivers will be on the rolls of TransportMitra fulfilling all statutory compliance such as Provident Fund, Medical support for the driver and his family, bonus etc. In the process, TransportMitra is enabling transport companies to create a proper HR policy for drivers, a deliberately stowed away initiative hitherto for lack of exposure and or unwillingness to "manage the unmanageable". For the four year old start up TransportMitra, it is a baby step in the driver recruitment and retention sphere. Nothing ventured, nothing gained. Come April 2019, we will be on ground with full vigour. The ball has been set in motion. Wish us luck.

14.01.2022 Good Morning Friends LITTLE-KNOWN PARKING RULE Theres one parking rule thats catching out a lot of Aussie drivers and youve probably broken it before as well without even realising it.... Traffic rules across the country state that you must not park your vehicle within 10m of an intersection. That distance is bumped up to 20m if there are traffic lights on the intersecting road. All states and territories in Australia have similar road rules preventing parking within 10m or 20m from an intersection, unless a sign allows you to park there. In NSW if you are caught breaking this rule you could be facing a $337 fine and two demerit points. Youll be coughing up $120 if you flout this rule in the ACT and a few dollars more in Tasmania with the fine is $122.25. undefined Drivers in Western Australia risk facing a $150 fine if they park within 10m of an intersection, or 20m if traffic lights are present. This kind of parking is also prohibited in Queensland and the Northern Territory, where penalty unit values are currently $130.55 and $155 respectively. In South Australia you will be fined $115 for violating the 10m rule, compared to the $153 you have to pay for breaking the 20m rule. In Victoria you will cough up $161.

Pre Departure check is very important part of driver’s job, if anything wrong they must say no.
