23.01.2022 Cate Faehrmann made the effort to come out and spend time with Darling Barka river communities to see first hand the effects of over extraction on the rivers ecology and communities. Cate is a wonderful advocate for the river and is bringing its plight to Sydney . Great to see cate up bush and all who spent time with her and Jacob ( key staffer) enjoyed the sincerely and fact finding of the visit and both are always welcome up bush at any time . Cate also strongly voted for the disallowance motion which is a watershed moment in the future of the Darling Barka river system and its communities .

23.01.2022 Today, the Santos project for NarrAbri coal seam gas extraction was approved by the Independent Planning Commission. This project falls in the Namoi valley, a major tributary to the Barka-Darling. Farmers, Aboriginal communities and rural communities who will be impacted have been talking about the threat to the underground and surface water supply. Our rivers are connected, if the Namoi is harmed then the impacts will flow downstream and impact communities right along our... rivers. 22.01.2022 G,day ladies and gentlemen. Again we call for you help, Malinda pavey is trying to put forward a legislation that will legislate flood plan harvesting. This will weaken and destroy the river that we and so many other depend on. Submissions are due on 20 December - please make a submission. Please also contact your local NSW MP and make sure this legislation does not get through when it comes up in Parliament. 22.01.2022 As the nations dams run dry and the natural lake systems such as the menindee lakes are deliberately killed the questioned must be ask. : Why are there so many greedy people in the northern basin of the darling barka getting away with murder of system while there are ripple effects cross the whole basin are allowed to kill the system under the watchful eyes the LNP both state nsw and federally ? .

21.01.2022 The health of the Murray-Darling isn’t just what is happening in the river channel; floodplains are critical and their health is important. New research today shows that only one quarter of floodplains which were due to get water under the Murray Darling Basin Plan did between 2014 and 2019. The problem? ‘Constraints’ such as farming land can’t get flooded without negotiation. The Federal Government have put zero effort into addressing these constraints and working with farm...ers and councils, meaning we can’t get water to floodplains. The floodplains need floods, but they are not allowed to get them. This is a huge issue on the Murray valley in particular. It's the most flood-prone land in Australia. 20.01.2022 The National Party is a disgrace both state and federally and must pay at the next elections with being decimated and dismantled. Findings after findings show their total disregard for anything expect their cotton masters . We would ask you to contact the NSW premiers office and ask for the water portfolio be taken away from Pavey and the national party immediately. The greed and corruption and disregard fir the rivers and every other Australian needs to atop . We must continue to fight for a federal royal commission before the whole basin collapses under the greed of the National party’s puppeteers in the northern basin of the Darling Barka . 19.01.2022 What’s left of the the National party is a rabble still hellbent on killing the river system for their northern masters. So there policy remains allow the greed and corruption to continue in the northern basin ,with no effective metering of water until 2022 . Then turn around and justify the killing of the Menindee lakes and the river system to protect the greedy water masters in the northern basin. 19.01.2022 Great too see fingerlings returning to the river systems . But for his long with the current LNP governments continued ignoring of the greed , theft and over extraction these fish are also destined to die on a dry river. . The fish scientists are trying their best fit the ecology of the rivers but without water there fate is the same if hundreds of millions of others , slow cruel death in a drying river puddle where the once Mighty Darling Barka once ran.

18.01.2022 For all those who love and want to protect the rivers and lakes of Australia we need your help . These are politicians that have voted against Helen Bill for transparency. So if you want to help the river and live in nsw please look through this list and look at your sitting member. If the member voted against Helen bill then please contact them and let your feelings be known . Put pressure on the politicans to allow the truth to come out and it will be another step in the right direction. The LNP are a disgrace to hide the truth and it’s only through us all building the pressure that politicans will be forever to act with integrity and support Helens Bill.

17.01.2022 The National party has no support, no relevance and no future in the bush and will be replaced next election . The National party have become only puppets for their northern masters , while attempting to force thru legislation to kill the Darling Barka and Menindee lakes , together with communities along it. By not only killing Darling Barka communities but denying water throughout system means honest farmers and irrigators on the Murray are being denied access to the water they have had for generations , to run their businesses and feed you into the future. The Liberal party must get rid of their ties to the National party before the truth of the greed and corruption and show the liberal party too have been totally complicit in the crimes of killing the rivers with the Nationals .

16.01.2022 A great gritty documentary by Dan and Ottis of the HomeLandings media , on the Wilcannia bridge blockade some months back. The local Barkindji Nation are loosing not only their river but ability to pass on their culture and knowledge to the young generations . The MDBA promised a First Nations voice on their board and yet again have broken their promises to the communities and First Nations of the Darling Barka. Great input on the documentary by Emma Carmody from the Environmental defenders office who puts here heart into helping all of us on the Darling Barka in our defence of the river and Menindee lakes .

14.01.2022 Helen Dalton water transparency legislation must pass as a first stage of the Darling Barka recovery. We must know the facts of legal/ illegal water right holders in nsw. We need it dating back to 2007 with a register including all politicans and public servants ( relating to wated including all MDBA staff ) and their families and complex company structures included. 13.01.2022 While it is amazing the ICAC couldn’t find corruption ( how far did they dig) it is refreshing to see yet another report showing the pigs in the river. Sadly we have people in our country with no one in mind but themselves and they must be exposed and face the courts did the environmental destruction they have caused in ghf Darlinv Barka. This report again exposed the facts that the MDBA is a disgrace and should have a total change at the top to actually protect the rivers ...and lakes . 09.01.2022 Today the NSW Independent Commission Against Corruption released the findings of their lengthy investigation into corruption and maladministration in the Murray-Darling. Whilst the ICAC did not find evidence of corruption, they found numerous and repeated occasions of maladministration and breaches of the NSW Water Management Act 2000. These instances of maladministration are STILL happening. 09.01.2022 Questions need to be asked of senior levels of KMart as to sustainability of cotton . 80 percent of the waters taken from the Darling Barka is taken by cotton, most is not all of the floodplain harvesting of huge amounts of water taken /stolen from the darling Barka/its catchment is for cotton. A number of cotton growers take huge volumes of water from the aquifer underground to flood their cotton crops. So how is any of this susutainsble ? I ( Rob) will speak time senior staff of kmart Australia and ask on what basis do they suggest mass over extraction killing a river system is sustainable? The false propaganda has to stop , and the public of Australians must know the facts not the spin of an industry which has already killed the Aral Sea and doing the same to our rivers of Australia .

08.01.2022 Greed corruption and misinformation is the cornerstone of the MDBA. It’s understood top management are on $500,000 plus $ 400,000 for life....is that the cost of integrity .. . Still misinformation from the MDBA and we will never get better until senior staff are replaced and the Barkindji must have their voice in the board as they had been promised by the mdba board. 05.01.2022 The SFF have made a quantum movement in the bush by actually giving the bush honest representation and support . Unlike the National party who are a disgrace and no longer represent the bush the SFF are doing an amazing job. 04.01.2022 Came home from Menindee with all these goodies. This is the Menindee products we remember from years ago and hope to see more of. Tomatoes, onions, zucchini’s, ...peaches, Johnny cake and fresh fish curry. Go to Menindee Post Office for the veg and the river for the fish.This is produced by a little bit of water and hope they can get back to grape growing, fruit growing, fishing and tourism. It’s up to you NSW and Commonwealth government and MDBA to give us a fair share of the the water and stop killing our Darling Baaka River and Menindee Lakes.
