21.01.2022 Hello to our wonderful community. We Need YOU! We are looking for some excited and motivated people to form a committee for 2020! To register your interest, please fill in the form at www.tolgafestival.com.au If you would like to be a part of the future direction of the Tolga Scarecrow Festival, we would love you to put your hand up to join the committee! 17.01.2022 Tug just couldn't understand why Sam the cowboy scarecrow would not throw the frisbee for him. This went on most of the morning. I laughed so hard that Larry had to turn my oxygen up a notch. LOL

Come and join us for an awesome family fun event with a farming theme of free games, free entertainment & displays, food, competitions and market stalls! Come dressed in scarecrow/farming costume and join the costume competition(free)! Don't forget to bring your loose change to vote on the "people's choice" Scarecrow! 08.01.2022 A number of people have messaged me regarding the Tolga ScarecrowFestival. This has previously been held every two years - in 2017 and 2015. We are anticipating that an awesome committee can be formed and it will next be held in 2019! Watch this space!!!

05.01.2022 Who has made a scarecrow for the scarecrow competitionIt's not too late & entry is FREE!!! Please deliver to Tolga Tennis Courts between 8.30 and 11.30am. Remember to include a cleaned 2 litre milk bottle for "people's choice" voting for EACH scarecrow entered - see below for info! There will be a large cardboard sign at the side of the road directing you where to go. Please drive into the carpark at the Tennis court/playground to unload. We will greet you at the g...ate on the corner of the tennis courts closest to the road. You will be provided with an entry form (if not already pre-filled) and a number. The entry form is to be attached to the back of the scarecrow and the number to the front. You will then set your scarecrow along the fence (in the section you have entered) on the inside of the tennis courts. Please bring cable ties, string, rope ect. - anything you might need to attach your Scarecrow to the fence If you would like to print your own entry form and attach it the back of the scarecrow prior to arriving - see below! We Can’t wait to see your creations! For everyone who is entering a scarecrow, in "Scarecrow Competition" please bring an EMPTY & WASHED 2L milk bottle with EACH Scarecrow entered. You place your loose change into the milk bottle attached to each scarecrow. The Scarecrow with the highest coinage in its bottle is the "people's choice" winner. As the scarecrow Festival is a fun family event, supported by the Lions Club, the "people's choice" fundraising is used to support the costs of the future "Tolga Scarecrow Festival". 02.01.2022 This is a post that is definitely not easy to write. Please know that we are writing this after much thought, waiting to see how things progressed, planning and further deliberation. The Tolga Scarecrow Festival, as we have planned with excitement and anticipation, will not be able to go ahead in October 2020 due to COVID-19 restrictions. The following facts have lead to this decision:... 1. COVID-19 cases have been shown to increase in Australia over the past weeks, although not in our region thankfully! 2. It is deemed that the risk is not over and many changes are here to stay. No-one is certain what things will look like over the coming months. 3. The Federal Government press releases are indicating stage 3 restrictions will last 3-6 months, if not longer. If cases increase, we may be moved back to stage 2. 4. Under Stage 3 (at this stage, from midnight 10th July) gatherings over 100 for festivals and cultural events are to only occur if social distancing is observed and the event is ticketed with set seating locations and no movement of people. A Covidsafe plan must be in place. Due to the nature of the Tolga Scarecrow festival and venue, we feel this is not feasible or possible. Unfortunately, based on all the information currently at hand, the Tolga Scarecrow Festival will need to be postponed. I thank-you so much for your interest and support of this event and look forward to you joining us in 2021. It is anticipated that the committee will re-convene in late January 2021 to start preparations for a future event and we will be again seeking expressions of interest from community members who would love to volunteer and make this event special. I would also like to take this opportunity to also thank the Atherton Tablelands Chamber of Commerce Inc.* and Bree from BizOffsider** for their support and anticipate that we will work with them again in the future to plan and deliver an awesome family event for our community, showcasing what we have to offer.
