25.01.2022 This is a cool little article on ABC news about the nature of habits. In my experience we almost never achieve a lasting, meaningful change in our health without addressing our thinking. They can be done together, but we can't carry an old mindset forward into a new and permanent state of health.



25.01.2022 If we just keep making the smart choice, we end up with the smart outcome! Don't complicate it, just get the next thing right ... then repeat.

23.01.2022 The weekend is a perfect time to head out for a nice long walk or long slow run (depending on your fitness level). It's a great way to get outside, clear your head, see a bit of your neighbourhood and do something positive for your overall endurance. Remember, never take on too much too quickly ... slow and steady does it!

23.01.2022 Kenneth H. Cooper is in some circles recognised as the pioneer of aerobic exercise for the masses... pushing us towards the phenomenon we now call recreational running! Sunday morning we'll be heading out again from Teralba Park ... 6:30am departure for a 50 minute run, or 6:40 departure for those keen on doing 40 minutes (that would be me!). Sunday morning, 6:30am I'll be heading off from the Pullen Road car park at Teralba Park. 40 minutes along the bike path (20 out 20 back) at a very comfortable pace. You certainly don't have to stick with me (I'd slow most of you down!) but if we get a bunch of us there, then I'm sure some similar paced individuals can group up. Have a great weekend whatever you get up to!

16.01.2022 Morning or evening, there's simply no bad time to be doing a squat press! Superb work team ... the weather is warming up, so take care with your hydration and skin protection. 16.01.2022 We're on again this Sunday folks ... leaving the carpark at 6.30am, 45 minutes of steady paced whatever, then off for coffee at Birds & Bees Café Bar. This type of exercise is the perfect companion to the higher intensity sessions we do during the week and helps to make sure that we are staying active more days than we're not! Join me or do your own thing, but make sure at least one day this weekend is an active one!!

15.01.2022 Keeping in good physical shape requires us to stay active more days than not. If we lead a fairly sedentary life we tend to rely on structured sport or exercise to help us along. To be effective, exercise MUST be a regular and consistent part of your week. A session here and there does very little to help our body adapt and improve, but it does open the door for injury as our body doesn't get the chance to get used to the increase in impact and intensity. ... Try not to have two days in a row where you don't get significantly active, and always build slowly and consistently
