The boys left town after work and after only 2 hours on the bikes they were into the beautiful Goobarragandra valley where they fished and camped for the night.

20.01.2022 Here is the trailer to an upcoming film about Eloise, a Tumut local who due to COVID wasn't able to compete in the Ultra Trail Australia 100km race and was forced to think outside the box for a long distance run. She ran 88km's from Wee Jasper back to her house in Tumut. The weather was wild on the day of the run which made for tough conditions however Eloise stuck it out and made it home in around 16hrs. The full film will be released on Monday as the first of 12 videos that we will be highlighting from around the region leading up to Christmas.

20.01.2022 This festive season Tom’s Outdoors is bringing you 12 days of Christmas in the Tumut region. Our first episode begins with Eloise, a local ultra-marathon runner who last month ran 88km along the Hume and Hovell from Wee Jasper to Tumut. The challenging conditions encouraged Eloise’s sense of adventure, the smile on her face never wearing thin. And just like 2020, some of the toughest sections of the track forced Eloise to slow down and take a break.

18.01.2022 The sun has set. Fishing for Trout in most NSW rivers closes today until October. We will be now concentrating on Trout in the lakes, Cod and estuary species for a while.

17.01.2022 We've all been dreaming of this moment for a while. Camping in NSW is now allowed, yet as with everything in our changing world, some things are not the same. To camp in an NSW National Park, you'll need to book ahead, and to camp in the remote wilderness you'll need to fill out a 'trip intention form'. It's important to remember that many areas within Kosciuszko National Park are still closed due to damage from the summers bushfires. Tumut’s Mountain Bike Park offers four single track trails with a wide variety of terrain suiting the adrenalin seekers to the adventure seekers and all in between. Each trail winds through ever-changing native bush-lands (don’t miss the wildflowers in spring) and you can even catch a view of Tumut from above on the Mudowie Loop.

You’ll find yourself pedalling over bridges, through tunnels, under tree canopies all whilst absorbing the immense history of the area. The best part is that it can be enjoyed by those with prams, wheelchairs and mobility scooters.

On a sunny day it’s the ideal location for a picnic, a swim or a walk following the signage and soak in the history of the area.
