People wrote, drew, cross-stitched, doodled, made grand plans, day dreamed... and we filed receipts weve been meaning to forever. And snacked and met some lovely people. Success! And loads of fun. (L-R) - Trevor Turbo Brown, the Brunswick Based Artist, famed for his vibrant painting style. "When I paint I feel like Im in the dreamtime, and I can see all the animals and birds that live there". - Ruth was indefatigable... in her activism for social reform and environmental planning. From womens rights to rail link proposals, she worked for the people. - Alan grew up in Brunswick and started working at Hoffmans Pottery at the age of 15. He worked there for 20 years. He was also the Mayor of Coburg twice! - Fred James lived at 71 Edward Street Brunswick. 11.01.2022 We know its been a difficult start to the year for everyone. Whether we have been impacted by the fires directly, through family and friends, communities and places we know, or just the scale of the devastation and climate change can be a heavy weight. So we wanted to invite anyone whos interested to come for a cuppa and chat in Small Matters Space (Amalia & Vics space next door to T.O.M.S Place) tomorrow from 6-8pm. This will be a safe space to talk ab...out how youre feeling, share experiences, and come together to gain information and support each other in taking climate action. Details - Thursday 9th January at 6-8pm, Small Matters Space (next door to TOMS), 1A Tripovich Street, Brunswick. Come anytime youre able to. Food - Well provide tea and Tim Tams. Feel free to BYO dinner and bevs. We are also 4 doors down from Crust Pizza, so please bring some cash if you would like to be part of a bulk vego pizza order. What to expect - This will be super casual and an opportunity to chat quietly with others, also share stories/thoughts with everyone if you like. To make sure we leave with some positivity and information, Amalia will also be sharing some things she learnt at Al Gores Climate Reality training last year, and we can all contribute to tips and ideas for incorporating sustainability into our own lives and ways that we can take climate action - and perhaps come up with some ways we can continue to help each other. A little craft to ease the chatter - For those who want to do a little cutting and pasting, we will also be making signs for the climate protest which is happening at 6pm in the city on Friday. Using all recycled materials, lets craft out some feelings and messages on signs. Well supply some materials, but bring anything that you have laying about at home too, the more the merrier! 05.01.2022 All our signage is created to biodegrade at the end of its lifecycle. We do our darndest to avoid plastic and waste. Sometimes it takes a bit of extra work, but we know the end result is worth it. These glam signs are laser-cut from bamboo ply and have been hand-painted to get the same effect as acrylic signage (just minus the plastic!). And all of our loo signs are referred to as good old fashioned W.Cs, keeping that language nice n gender-neutral

Makes for a great lunch break activity!
