23.01.2022 Over the season of 12 #ADLfringe shows + all the promo cabaret sets, close-up gigs and press spots, there were several stand out moments for me. But the most interesting was witnessing the audience right after the show finished. Every night there was a moment when everyone just sat, silently, after the applause finished, and quietly processed what they just saw - until they were ready to start discussing it with their neighbours or get up to leave the theatre. While a lot of... magicians thrive on the audible noise the audience make throughout the show, I started to revel in the implied noise of mental cogs turning. It’s a moment that’s not allowed to an audience at a corporate show as the Emcee usually takes over and whisks them away to another performance, or dinner. And unlike previous stage shows, I chose to exit to the back of the room (rather than off into the wings) so I could openly experience the ‘processing’ each night, which was a new and very unexpected joy.

After dipping my toes into the realm of Zoom shows since this time last year, it’s been an interesting challenge to develop magical material that works via the screen and the clients seem to enjoy it (and book again and again). That said. I still much prefer being on stage. Ps. Just noticed I was just in my but at least I was wearing
