12.01.2022 *FEEL-GOOD STORY* The following came into the FA Alonso Kart Australia inbox last night... Hey guys, we received our brand new Cadet 9 FA Kart from James Sera on Wednesday evening. We competed at the Junior Top Gun meeting at Oakleigh on Friday and Saturday. My boy James Flynn qualified on Pole for both Friday and Saturday and won 5 of the 6 races and won the overall championship. Thanks so much for an awesome kart! Here is a pic of him leading the first lap of one of the ra...ces. Well, what can we say? What a great message to receive! Firstly, congrats to young James on an outstanding drive. 08.01.2022 Favourite Karting Memory Macauley Jones. There is no hiding the Jones name in the Supercars paddock, so when second generation racer Macauley arrived at the A...lbury Wodonga Kart Club with father Brad and a 20 year old CRG, it was only going to be matter of time before Jones Junior was hooked, and his 20 year old CRG replaced. For me, Karting is very special to me, it’s taught me a lot and still continues to today as I use it as an important training tool in keeping sharp for the Supercars Championship, said Macauley. I’ve had a lot of great times across Australia during my time in Karting, and it’s hard to narrow it down to just one, but if I had to pick one it would definitely be the 2011 Brian Farley Memorial event held at the NSKC Eastern Creek (North Shore Kart Club). I won the feature race and a paid trip to Disneyland with a last lap pass on Jason Hryniuk. Getting the win in such a quality field in my first senior clubman race felt great and gave me a huge boost knowing that I could mix it with the best guys in the country. 2012 saw Jones move into Formula Ford racing in the NSW, Victorian and Australian Championships being a part of the Motorsport Australia Rising Stars program with Minda Motororts before moving into the Super2 Series with Family team Brad Jones Racing in 2014. Whilst still racing in the Dunlop Super2 Series, Jones was also a Co-Driver in the PIRTEK Endurance Cup with Dale Wood, Tim Blanchard and Nick Percat. Last year, he became a full-time driver in the Virgin Australia Supercars Championship. Still now, Jones spends time working with karting mentor Tom Williamson who has played a large roll in Jones’ Development over the years. In early 2020, TWM and BJR formed the BJR TWM Junior Development Team with the direct focus on producing tomorrow’s next big talent whilst guiding them through rollercoaster of making it to Supercars. To remain sharp, Jones has plans to race in the elite KZ2 category at the SP Tools Australian Kart Championship presented by Castrol EDGE into his 2020 Calendar when it returns after the enforced break caused by the COVID-19 Pandemic. 08.01.2022 This fella right here is a very big reason why TWM has been so successful in the last 3-4 years. His name is Don McLean but we all call him Donny. His experience and knowledge with all things motorsport is exemplary. He’s a 5x time Australian Champion karter himself, he’s an engine builder, he’s helped a number of junior karters through the ranks including @markskaife to name but one. Donny is my right hand man, when I need something done I know I can always rely on Donny.... A race team might have one persons name as the title of the team, but without blokes like Donny putting the hard yards in, it would all fall apart. 01.01.2022 Just back from a big long-weekend testing and training some of the TWM team drivers.
