25.01.2022 .........and now straight from the glass studio, the latest work for the SALA exhibition.
25.01.2022 The lockdown had some advantages. Time to change the imitation leadlight in the front door.
24.01.2022 Something almost different. Approaching completion. https://tongandchiccreations.blogspot.com//horses-for-cour
23.01.2022 There has been a lot of Chic and not much Tong happening lately. I finished this one just in time for Valentines day for my darling wife. My first attempt at a rose and all things considered I think it turned out pretty good
23.01.2022 9 years ago I made the gazebo that is seen on the profile picture. 8 years ago i was asked to make one for a client in Canberra. Although I never got a picture of the completed structure, I did get one of the completed dome. I do remember it was a total pain to paint. We were delivering it as well so it had to break down to a transportable size and also have instructions on assembly. I have plans to build another for here but maybe this time it will be a pyramid top instead. The double convex curves were a pain.
23.01.2022 It has been a whils since we posted something. Partly because of Christmas and the bushfires near by, and partly because of an injury stopping me from using a hammer. In that time the forge work area has been undergoing a transformation. It is by no means finished but it is working out to be a more useable work area as you should be able to see in this video. https://youtu.be/No4ST_VZYKs
22.01.2022 I wasnt happy with the neck and decided to perform some overnight surgery. Looks a lot better now.
21.01.2022 To hell with the elf on a shelf. We have Santas little helper here https://checkout.square.site/buy/Q7VBV4EUPCJRUWS6T4QELTZS
21.01.2022 South Australian Living Artists (SALA) Festival is starting this weekend and I have a few entries in for the first time. Here is a sneak peek of what will be on display from the forge at the Top of the Torrens gallery from Saturday.
19.01.2022 We said we took time off for inspiration and that came from a trip to Russia. Ironically the last day of our holiday I come across a Russian Blacksmith and the second to last day I come across a wrought iron fence built for a church built by Anns Great great great Great Grandfather. What more inspiration do we need now. How good is that
19.01.2022 We are not just committed to building our own business. A good friend in Victoria has a great business making goats milk soap products. Check them out here and subscribe to their Youtube channel for updates. https://www.youtube.com/channel/UC3fn90N-ctMADev4TTShB1w
18.01.2022 Its not all about horses. Some days the occcasional border collie makes an entrance. Sorry this one is sold already but we can make one to your requirements

We made a second one after the first one sold almost immediately and that one sold within minutes. We also sold the sunflower display. 16.01.2022 We finally got around to setting up the store. Some items are on display in the local gallery so if you want them, send us a message and we we=ill reserve them for you.
15.01.2022 Some days you just need to take a break and do something for yourself. We have wanted one of these for a while now and this is much stronger than the shop bought version.
14.01.2022 The latest creation from the workshop is a combined effort. This is true tong and chic with the glasswork by Ann and the custom frame by Adrian. The mirror is a foiled leadlight mirror and the frame is a custom Jarrah timber frame with sprockets cut and used to accent the corners. This item has been made for a motorcycle club charity auction so we are hoping it will bring a good price.
14.01.2022 And now for the glass exhibits for the upcoming exhibition. If you are interested please ask for a price
13.01.2022 Sadly the local gallery where we display and sell some of our work is closed due to the corona virus. This doesn't mean we dont continue our artistic ventures. We will still be creating and displaying here. All items will be for sale, so if you are interested in a product, or commissioning an artwork, send us a message

09.01.2022 Sometimes a pile of rusty metal can reveal a piece of art. Its not finished yet but well on the way. This will make its way to the gallery if not sold beforehand
09.01.2022 Sometimes you get sent something that makes you think about which direction to go next. This is one of those things. https://www.facebook.com/176663550714/posts/10158952055230715/?d=null&vh=e
08.01.2022 Are you looking for a one of gift for someone? We can probabky make something from glass or steel to suit. This was made as a Birthday gift. For those who are not sure, this is called a candy skull or sugar skull. Its a popular thing in the tattoo area and also in Mexican culture to celwbrate the day of the dead. Each bead was hand cut and fused before being added to the skull shape and fused again. If you look closely you can also see the age is written between the nose and mouth. The stand was made from recycled Jarrah and set at an angle to hold the skull in the recessed base.
08.01.2022 We stopped at Mandrogi to check the local art. Now we have some great inspiration
08.01.2022 Time to get creative again. Hopefully this will get me inspired

Some similar are selling for up to $280 in the US and not as detailed as these. An ideal christmas present! Postage can be arranged. Send us a message if you want one of these before they go.
03.01.2022 How amazing is this. The exhibition hasnt even started yet and already we have sold the metal spoon bill sculpture, the birds on a branch glass work and the sunflower glasswork. So there isnt a gap in the metal sculptures I have made this replacement. Hopefully he will be as popular. Ann is out creating replacement glass art for the 2 she has sold
03.01.2022 We are slowly getting back into being creative. A shoulder injury is slowing down the forge work but the glass is back in full swing. The glasswork was a commissioned piece and came out excellent. The metal was about all I could do under the circumstances
01.01.2022 My main item in the SALA exhibition has sold. Ziggy is a steam punk horse head that is pretty much life size and to scale. It was fun making him so onward to bigger and better now.....
