20.01.2022 "We grow through discomfort or insight. But never through apathy." - Vishen Lakhiani 2016 The regularity of training in Kung Fu and Tai Chi is like the blacksmi...thing that creates the sharpest swords. The steel is heated in the forge, or crucible, then pounded and folded, cooled down and heated again. The process is repeated many times. Similarly, we place our body and mind into the crucible of our training. This is the heating, pounding, and folding of the steel. Something soft like meditation, qigong, stretching, rest and relaxation is the cooling off period. Then we come back the next day and do it again. Over time our body, mind, and spirit improves on many levels. Whatever you do don't become apathetic and take the commitment and regularity too lightly. The treasures available to you in these arts are endless and should not be easily given up on. See more

08.01.2022 Nobody is perfect. Even if you achieve enormous capability, you will make mistakes. You will forget things. You will have bad days, and maybe show a poor attitude at times. You will do a poor job of showing a technique. Even if you are doing your best, you may not be able to complete a task, or you might have an outcome you didn’t want. Everybody fails at some point. Sometimes, things totally out of your control will drastically change your world. These things are part of lif...e. Budo is about what you do after these things happen. How do you live a life of Budo? How do you keep improving your understanding of Budo? The answer is, at the same time, both very simple and very difficult. The simple answer is that you must always be entirely honest with yourself about what you are doing, why you are doing it, and how you are doing it you must take responsibility for your choices and actions. The problem is that, these days, in our society, it has become the normal behavior for people to take shortcuts, to excuse or dismiss poor choices, to accept a minimal effort as sufficient, and most importantly, to not require of themselves, or others, to act always with integrity. People today, seem to find it extraordinarily difficult to avoid being part of these unfortunate trends in our society. 08.01.2022 With the arrival of the coronavirus, life and training as we knew it is on hold. Our school has temporarily closed. So hows your training? Here is a reminder of why now is the time to train, more than ever before, and how you can make the most of this pause. In this challenging time, we need to provide stability and an optimistic outlook for our families, especially our children, and our community. We may need to make difficult choices and take on difficult tasks. To best ...accomplish the adversity that lies ahead, we need to be strong. Circular Tong Long is a complete system. Progress is not measured in hours, days or weeks, but in months and years, and is hard-earnt. Although times have changed, the clock has not stopped ticking. As we enter into an uncertain time of living, the question is not: When will training resume? The question is: What will I train today? The discipline to train is the foundation on which progress is built. There are opportunities at this time to digest and understand what you have learnt, but more importantly, there is the the opportunity to embrace the martial discipline of perpetual endeavour towards the goal of improvement. Please PM Sifu with any questions, or submit a video for review if you are stuck or needing feedback at this time. Look after your physical and mental health, keep a positive attitude, and keep training.
07.01.2022 Hopefully everyone has had a restful and restorative break. Training for 2020 begins tonight @ 630 - see you soon!
