25.01.2022 A Q2, 2020 sneak peak! What is Tong up to now?

25.01.2022 This morning we completed a set of custom Toolboxes and Drawers for an Isuzu NLR45/150. The opposite toolboxes are a mirror copy of the visible side. The large open door and its opposite are in Mill Finish for easy wrapping with the companies advertising. Main doors are central locked. Between the two side toolboxes is a covered and locked storage area.

24.01.2022 Tong often gets asked how would you carry bikes on a Tong Camper. One customer came up with this solution using the vehicles existing tow bar mount.

24.01.2022 Another 2020 Tong prototype teaser. Clam sheel rooftop tent. Canvas yet to be fitted. Im 186 cm tall. With my head at the hinged end, I can situp without my head touching the roof. Mattress is Brisbane made 50mm high density foam. The roof is also line with a special high density insulation foam.

23.01.2022 Hi Everyone, Well it's been a week to forget for a lot of us, but we have one happy Tong customer that will look back on this week as one of his best memories, as today is the day he picked up his new Tong Tray and Canopy. Now he's all ready to get away from the rat race with it's nasty viruses. As you can see, Life goes on at Tong Metal, Remember the words of Monty Python "Always Look on the Bright Side of Life!!" 19.01.2022 A trio of ute trays freshly back from being lined with polyurea coat. This provides an excellent surface that is strong, durable, and hard wearing. Trays lined by Xtreme Liner Brisbane.

19.01.2022 A nice example of a two draw deluxe package. Draws and storage on the passangers side and a fridge slide space and electrics on the drivers side. The electricial package is set up as a dual battery system with the red anderson for solar input an the grey anderson for the fridge which the customer will install using a fridge slide.

15.01.2022 Another good reason to own a Tong Canopy. When you crunch the door on something hard like a power pole, garage wall, or the side of your house, we can fix it. You buy a cheap import and lots of luck getting it fixed. We see on average 1 every week needing a new door. Even though the door is badly bent, the tough Tong Canopy holds its shape because its built to last.

We will have the Camper with the new fit out, our new Alloy Ute Tray and a "bells and whistles" Canopy with all of the good gear on show. Oh Yes! 09.01.2022 This is why we use 3M double-sided boding tape on our canopy doors. This tape is rated to 400 degrees C with extremely high bonding capacity. Its used in many applications including aircraft manufacture. Picture 1 shows Impact Point on leading edge of door. Picture 2 shows external damage to door. Picture 3 shows internal damage to door and yet the bond between the frame and the door is still intact. The customer was able to continue their journey and return to Tong Metal for a new door.
