02.01.2022 What we are getting asked by many - What will happen to house prices as a result of C19? Here is a great little summary of what is happening given this is a 'productivity' rather than a 'financial' downturn. Despite predictions, there have been lower levels of listings (despite agents spruiking otherwise), or distressed sales reducing prices for buyers. Whilst there are increased people searching for buys, & prices holding ground better than expected, we are yet to see how ...this will affect the various markets. Interesting pointers for the Mackay market has been the recent movement in sales, which could well be supported by the fact that rentals remain low driven by our Mining sector, & continued low-interest rates for those who positioned themselves to purchase pre-COVID. With the opportunistic and/or savvy investors starting to engage now through to the next few months.
02.01.2022 While in-room auctions and traditional open homes are still not permitted in Queensland, some restrictions have been eased as of 1 May 2020. The following real estate activities are now permissible: * Private appointments for inspection (as previously advised); and, * Open inspections with a maximum of six (6) people including the real estate agent inside the home at any one time, with no more than one person per 4 square metres.... If advertising an open inspection to attract two or more group showings (with a maximum of six people including the real estate agent), a second real estate agent will be required outside of the property to manage social distancing and strict hygiene protocols which must still be observed.
