01.01.2022 Last weekend was my twins, Jacinta & Madelin’s, 16th Birthday. Whilst we were sitting together at dinner a couple of weeks prior, I asked my children what did they think their sisters would have liked to do for their birthday if they were here? My eldest immediately suggested a theme park So, that’s what we did much to their excitement!!! We drove all the way up to Gold Coast for the weekend and had the best day celebrating their birthday by being together and doing fun t...hings. It was different to every other year where we would head to their resting place, spend some time there and then go for lunch. This year, it was about creating new, joyful memories we can look back on fondly, as my own heart was truly battling and I didn’t want to sit in the pain (although there was a time I needed that to feel close to them). My boy at 3 yrs of age is becoming more and more aware as he joins in the conversations a little more but mostly saying their names and that they have died So, it was the perfect opportunity to show my children how we can live our lives with love and joy even though there is pain and sadness around us and/or within us at times, especially on these significant dates See more
