06.01.2022 #opinion I recently came across a post on Instagram of an entrepreneur talking about the launch of his new website. The introduction started off well but then the copywriter in me was silently cringing.... I found myself asking a serious question ‘Why would you say that?!’ The issue was that he put a lot of emphasis on how far he wants his brand to go. Now, there’s nothing particularly wrong with this but it’s just the way it was worded. Saying, ‘I want books on shelves. I want people to wear my merchandise’ is not a great first impression. A benefit-driven copy places the focus on how you can improve people’s lives not yours. I like this saying best: ‘You confuse you lose’ React to this post if you agree.
