03.01.2022 Meanwhile Tony Duffy is traveling from Italy in a bid to keep his remarkable streak of 31 consecutive Noosa Triathlons alive. I would have done the first Noosa, but broke my leg a week before. I keep coming back because the great organization, people and atmosphere. As long as l can complete l will never miss it no matter where l am, says Duffy. Duffy whet his appetite for triathlon in San Diego in the early 1980s. Duffy, 54, is based near Lake Varese, about 50 km north of Milan, where he manages the Australian Institute of Sport European Training Centre, which hosts elite athletes from sports including rowing, cycling, sailing, athletics, triathlon and football.
