25.01.2022 Come and have some fun tonight at the Meadowbrook Night Market located around 1 Golf Course Drive

24.01.2022 Great to see democracy in full swing last night with the newly elected board for the Bethania Community Centre being elected. I would like to congratulate: Lee McKenzie McKinnon as President Lorel Robinson as Vice President... Sharon Hamilton as Secretary Valda Wernowski as Treasurer and the newly elected Ordinary Committee Members It was also great to catch up with our local Federal Member Bert van Manen, the previous board members and many of the local residents of my amazing constituency within Division 6. I would like to thank the Bethania Community Centre for organizing this event and taking all COVID19 Safe precautions required. Unfortunately we were denied celebratory sausage sandwiches after the election due to these restrictions but we made do with some great banter Looking forward to supporting this community center and their future endeavors to help our community.

22.01.2022 This week I was invited to be part of the judging panel for Loganlea State High Schools Catapult Entrepreneurship Program. I would have loved to attend in person but could not due to COVID19 restrictions, but thanks to the wonder of modern technology my head could be shown to the students via online live feed. I am very proud of our Loganlea students who provided some amazing pitches for Social Enterprise businesses touching on community needs such as public safety, gender eq...uality and education. A big thank you to Principal Brenton Farleigh, the Loganlea High School faculty, Paulette Oldfield, Mark McCrystal and the City Transformation Program team for organising this event. The Logan City Council led Catapult Entrepreneurship Program is designed to help our young people learn the skills required to succeed in business life. This sets our youth up to create meaningful, future-focused opportunities to aid in the long-term economic prosperity of our region. Students will learn how to collaboratively develop, validate and pitch their own business ideas, receiving input and advice from local entrepreneurs and experts along the way. #LoganleaHighSchool #LoganCityCouncil #CatapultEntrepreneurshipProgram #Logan #Division6 #TonyHall #CouncillorTonyHall #CityTransformationProgram

22.01.2022 Councillor Tony Hall live and unrehearsed video update 17/07/2020

21.01.2022 DEC 2020 JAN 2021 UPCOMING BUS STOP UPGRADES BETHANIA Logan City Council is about to announce the commencement of bus stop upgrades at Bethania. These works are being completed as part of Council’s Capital Roads and Drainage Program. WHAT IS HAPPENING?... Bus stop upgrades will occur at: o Montrose Avenue, Bethania (Cnr of #10-12 Montrose Ave) o Montrose Avenue, Bethania (at #11 Montrose Ave) o Montrose Avenue, Bethania (at #47 Montrose Ave) o Clarendon Avenue, Bethania (Cnr of #12-14 Clarendon Ave) o Federation Drive, Bethania (at #78 Federation Dr) o Federation Drive, Bethania (at #67 Federation Dr) o Holmview Road, Holmview (at #146 Holmview Rd) These upgrades are jointly funded by Council and the Queensland Government under the 2020/21 Passenger Transport Accessible Infrastructure Program (PTAIP) and Bus Stop Shelter Program (BSSP). Council has appointed local contractor EnProCon Pty Ltd to carry out all works. WHEN IS IT HAPPENING? Works are scheduled to commence in early December 2020 and are expected to be completed in January 2021, weather and site conditions permitting. A further notice will be delivered in the immediate vicinity of each work site one week prior to construction commencing. WHAT CAN I EXPECT? While Council and its contractor will make every effort to minimise disruption, some localised impacts will occur: - Speed restrictions, lane closures and footpath closures around work sites. Site representatives will be available to assist motorists and pedestrians as required. - Temporary relocation of the bus stops during construction (signage will be installed to indicate the temporary location). - Temporary loss of street parking and driveway access. Affected residents will be notified in advance to ensure the works are coordinated appropriately. - Increased levels of noise and dust. Contractors will attempt to reduce this impact as much as practical. - Vegetation removal and / or trimming in Council road reserve as required. FOR MORE INFORMATION For more information about these works, please contact the Council’s Project Engineer, Chris Huynh on (07) 3412 5436 or by email to [email protected]

21.01.2022 Just a reminder that I will be at Meadowbrook Shopping Centre today (25th of November 2020) from 10am until 4pm. Come and say hello if you get a chance I’m near the entrance next to the Coffee Club.

21.01.2022 Well done to our amazing soccer players in Bethania

20.01.2022 Today I am proud to say that I stood in solidarity with my fellow Councillors and Mayor in refusing and rejecting our proposed wage increase. If we did nothing at all we would have automatically received the wage increase and this is not the time to be paid more while others in our community are doing it soo hard. We are all in this together Logan! In today's City Governance Committee it was unanimous that the Mayor and Councillors reject the proposed wage increase for 2020/2021, awarded to all Councillors, approved by the Local Government Remuneration Commission in solidarity with Logan families who are currently under enormous financial stress from the COVID-19 restrictions.

19.01.2022 Please be aware that If you break the law in Division 6 you will not be safe. I am serious about crime prevention in my division and I will be doing everything I can within my role as Councillor to ensure the safety of my residents. Logan City Council is working with our local law enforcement to help keep residents and their property safe. We have one of the best anti-crime surveillance platforms in the world and everyday we are getting better and better at what we do.

19.01.2022 Thank you very much for this article Madeline Grace. It is great to see a local journalist advertising positive stories from council as well as the hard hitting ones. Thank you for helping to spread awareness of MOvember to the Logan community as well

18.01.2022 Prior to being elected, I spoke to hundreds of residents interested in Council's role in crime prevention. These conversations led to Safety/Security becoming... one of six focus points in my policy framework. Today, Cr Tony Hall and I were treated to a tour to learn about our City's enviable Safety Camera Program, an impressive and effective collaboration with the Queensland Police Service. If you wish, you can learn more about the program, including its goals and camera sites, here: www.logan.qld.gov.au/safety/logan-safety-camera-program Councillor Tony Hall - Representing the people of Division 6 Logan City Councillor Mindy RussellLogan City Council from our community~for our community

17.01.2022 Some of you may remember that part of my election policy was to make sure Logan residents have a better say on what happens in our City. I am very pleased to announce that the Community Engagement team with the support of your local Councillors have launched a Have Your Say for the community to comment on their draft Community Engagement Strategy 2020-2022 for Logan City Council. We want the community to tell us how Council can best work alongside you to shape our Citys fu...ture. You can either have your say online or come along to a focus group. Survey is now live as of today and will conclude on 6th September. Link: https://haveyoursaylogan.com.au/communityengagement

17.01.2022 It was fantastic to meet with Logans Cross Cultural Liaison Unit from the Queensland Police Service. Logan has one of the most diverse and unique populations in the world and it is important to understand that we may have many different cultures and languages but we all must follow the same law. These fine men and women are on the front line bridging the gap of diversity and helping our residents understand the law while building valuable relationships within the community. I am looking forward to working with them to help make our great city safer, stronger together

16.01.2022 Lest we forget. Today I stood in silence next to Lieutenant Harry Wendt: a member of the Light Horse Army Reserve. He was known as a hard-working, loving husband, a caring father and also a Councillor who helped shape Logan into what it is today. All people of Australia we owe our lives and our livelihood to the men and women who have served for their country. On the 11th hour of the 11th day of the 11th month we stand for a minutes silence in remembrance, contemplation and respect.

16.01.2022 TRAFFIC ALERT Motorists are advised of roadworks on Brisbane-Beenleigh Road, southbound, near Castile Crescent, Holmview, from 7pm to 5am Monday 22 June 2020, weather permitting. Lane closures and speed restrictions will be in place. Please drive with care and watch out for roadwork signage.

16.01.2022 Today I attended the Logan City Golf Day 2020 hosted and sponsored by Meadowbrook Golf Club. It was also great to See Division 10 Councillor Miriam Stemp, Bethania Community Centre President Lee McKenzie McKinnon, members of the Chambers of Commerce as well as many local business owners out on the green. Now before everyone starts banging on about a councillor playing golf on a Friday it is important to note that this was for a great cause with collaboration from YFS and Subs...tation 33 providing computers for students unable to access schooling from home. Ill pick up a club on any day to help our local kids gets get access to education Meadowbrook Golf Course is located in Division 6 and is an iconic tourist location of Logan. I encourage the support of our local sporting clubs and thank YFS and Substation 33 for their great work for our community. #logan #TonyHall #CouncillorTonyHall #CrTonyHall #Division6 #logancouncil #golf #substation33 #yfs #meadowbrook #meadowbrookgolfcourse #meadowbrookgolfclub #livinginlogan

15.01.2022 This week was National Reconciliation Week. A time when all Australians can stand together to further our journey towards a more equitable nation by acknowledging Australias first people and recognising the value of their community, histories and culture. I was able to visit Principal Curran and the amazing staff and students at Edens Landing State School who have embraced National Reconciliation Week by utilising their yarning circle to engage with local Elders and have o...rganized activities for students to better understand, support and celebrate our Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people. Logan City Council and Edens Landing State School would like to acknowledge the traditional custodians of the land in which we work and live, and recognize their continuing connections to the land, water and community. We pay our respect to Elders past, present and emerging. #NRW2020, #InThisTogether2020

14.01.2022 Logan City Council has given the green light to two strategies to guide its future interactions with the community: - The Customer Experience Strategy 2020-2024 - The Community Engagement Strategy 2020-2024 ... The development of Council’s Customer Experience Strategy 2020-2024 has been a significant undertaking and included extensive engagement with the community and staff. It is the first time that Council has developed a corporate customer experience strategy and roadmap. The new strategy will support the ongoing provision and improvement of high quality experiences for Council’s customers and the community through the services provided. Consultation for the Community Engagement Strategy took place between August 3 and September 6 this year through online forums, the Have Your Say online engagement page and in-person workshops. City Lifestyle Committee Deputy Chairperson Councillor Tony Hall said Council would now be taking this feedback on board. We will be looking to embed it into the way we continue to engage with the Logan community, Cr Hall said. Thank you to all of those who took the time to contribute their suggestions and insights. This will give us a stronger base to operate from. Council will now develop a strategy implementation and action plan detailing how the strategy will be delivered over the coming years. Customer experience was also a feature of the recent 2020 Logan Listens: Residents’ Survey, the results of which were presented to Council today. IRIS Research, which conducts the biennial survey, identified customer experience as an area needing improvement, particularly with regards to electronic communications.

14.01.2022 My mid-June 2020 live and un-rehearsed update from my desk at Logan City Council

13.01.2022 What a fantastic opportunity to be involved, hand out the winners ribbons and see the competitive spirit of our students at Edens Landing State Schools Senior Sports Day. Some amazing young sporting talent here and I am very proud to say that all children were giving it their best. Unfortunately parents were unable to attend due to COVID19 restrictions but it was great to see that our kids were able to have a day of fun amongst everything happening in the world. My congratul...ations go to Principal Curran and the faculty of the school for having such well behaved students. Very proud to see them all in uniform and Principal Curran has my support on his uniform and school dress code policy. The behaviour and great attitudes of these kids are a fine example of his efforts towards this school. Congratulations to all the winners today and well done for everyone having a go! #edenslandingstateschool #TonyHall #Division6 #edenslanding #Sport #Logan #CouncillorHall #LoganCouncil #LoganCityCouncil #PrincipalCurran

13.01.2022 Today is the 75th anniversary of VP Day(Victory in the Pacific day) or VJ Day(Before it was changed). This date commemorates Japans acceptance of the Allied demand for unconditional surrender 14th August 1945 and Australias Prime Minister, Ben Chifley, announced that the war was over. This is an important date in Australias history and we owe it to our veterans and the fallen soldiers of Australia and New Zealand to never forget their service and their sacrifice for our nation and its people. 11.01.2022 Queensland has 3 cases of coronavirus (COVID-19) today. The first case is a 19-year-old woman who tested positive after travelling interstate last week. She is ...an employee at Parklands Christian College on Brisbanes southside. Queensland Health is working closely with the school which has temporarily closed until further notice. The second case is a 19-year-old female travel companion. Both cases travelled interstate together last week. It is believed they contracted the virus in Melbourne, Victoria. The third reported case is a known close contact, a 22-year-old woman, who tested positive later today. This individual is an employee of YMCA Chatswood Hills Outside School Hours Care. Queensland Health is working closely with the school and the care centre, both of which have temporarily closed until further notice. There are currently 8 active cases of COVID-19 in Queensland. Currently, 4 of the active cases are in hospital. To date, 1,065 people have recovered and sadly, 6 people have died of the disease. This brings the total number of cases to 1,079. Each day, total cases may not equal active plus recovered plus deaths, as information for some cases is still pending and will be updated in due course. 11.01.2022 Today Councillor Russell, Councillor Stemp, Councillor Lane and myself were invited to view and speak to the creators of some of the amazing innovations being collaboratively developed at Substation33. 10.01.2022 This week I was able to attend the first ever meeting between the new president of the Bethania Community Centre (Lee McKenzie McKinnon) and the new president of the Loganlea Community Centre (Karen Hook). This meeting was extremely important to me because I believe we are all stronger when we work together. Both community centres service vastly different demographics within division 6 but our goal for supporting the needs of our local community are the same. Knowing that we ...can rely on each other will help us get through these difficult times. I look forward to many more meetings like this and supporting our amazing local community centres. #allinthistogether #loganleacommunitycentre #bethaniacommunitycentre #community #bethania #Loganlea

10.01.2022 Great to catch up with the Loganlea Community Center to celebrate the retirement of two of our amazing volunteers. Congratulations to Marj Jensen & Lindel Walters and thank you for your hard work towards the community

09.01.2022 Internationally all eyes are on Logan to help solve one of the worlds biggest problems: the disposal of treated sewage sludge and the conversion of sewage into energy. Today with Councillor Frazer and Councillor Stemp I was able to visit Logan City Council (as Lead Organisation) tackling this problem head on with the Logan Citys Biosolids Gasification Project located at Loganholme Wastewater Treatment Plant. With a total investment cost of $17.28m and with $6.22m in support ...funding from ARENA this initiative is an Australian first that demonstrates how sewage sludge can be transformed into energy. To give some context as to why adressing this issue is soo important to not just Logan but the world, Logan Waste Water Treatment Plant services 300,000 people. It produces 34,000 tonnes of biosolids (treated and partially dewatered sewage sludge) every year. Everyday, six trucks of biosolids are transported 300km to the Darling Downs at a cost of about $1.8m per year for the city. I am very proud to know that Logan City is helping to change the world. For more information visit here: https://arena.gov.au//logan-city-biosolids-gasification-p/

05.01.2022 Yesterday afternoon, Councillors met with Logan's Cross Cultural Liaison Unit from Queensland Police Service. It was great to catch up with old friends from m...y Family Place days and meet some new ones too. I'm a strong believer that every dollar spent on prevention saves many dollars down the track. Also, the best prevention is good relationships, which is why I love what these guys do in our community. I'm really looking forward to working together to address local issues and celebrate Logan's unique strengths. Councillor Mindy Russell from our community~for our community

05.01.2022 The City of Logans newest mural has been unveiled to the community at the Logan Art Gallery. Indigenous community Elder Aunty Peggy Tidyman designed the Cycles of Change mural. The mural tells the story of more than 60,000 years of change. The mural's symbols and markings highlight different aspects of indigenous culture, the land and Logan's history. The First Nations People and Logan Citys 12 divisions are symbolised by blue circles. Different coloured dots throughout the... artwork represent Logan's 217 multicultural groups. Blue and cream dots on the mural stand for Councils logo the Coast Banksia flower. Aunty Peggy, a Gunggari descendant and Elder from Mitchell, said she was proud to see her artwork on the gallery wall Its given me a lot of pride, not only in myself and my culture, but also in my community, she said. Aunty Peggy embraced art after retiring in 2016 from a 32-year career as a counsellor with Education Queensland. She said she now enjoyed sharing the strength and wisdom of her culture with others through art. If you would like to see more amazing art works please attend the exhibitions at the Logan Art Gallery: https://www.logan.qld.gov.au/logan-art-gallery/exhibitions #AllInThisTogether #IndigenousArt #OurCulture #Logan #LoganArtGallery #LoganCityCouncil #LoganCommunity #LoganCulture #LoganPeople #QueenslandArt #LoganHistory

04.01.2022 Here is a recently posted video of my 70+ year old Auntie performing an act very similar to what I used to do in the circus many, many years ago. She has been training with her granddaughter Tasneem on the silks (back in my day called the straps). 04.01.2022 What a great day to visit the Waller Park Family Fun Fair. Just one of the local COVID19 SAFE SHOWS in Logan this is a great opportunity for local families to experience all the fun of the EKKA right here in Logan. Many of the amusement ride operators live right here in Logan (some for 7 generations) and have been unable to work due to all the major shows such as the EKKA being canceled so it was great to see our Councillors and the local community getting behind our local sh...owmen and supporting them during this time. Show your support for our local Aussie showmen and take the family out for a day of fun at your local COVID19 SAFE SHOW in Logan. #wallerparkfamilyfunfair #wallerparkfamilyfair #TonyHall #Logan #allinthistogether #councillors #brownsplains #brownsplainsskatepark

01.01.2022 Work has started on the $16.1 million transformation of Logans historic Kingston Butter Factory (KBF). Todays highly-anticipated milestone event marked the commencement of construction and was attended by the Minister for Local Government Stirling Hinchcliffe, Member for Waterford Shannon Fentiman, Mayor of Logan Darren Powers, Deputy Mayor Jon Raven, Councillor Laurie Koranski and Councillor Tony Hall. Logan Council is redeveloping the KBF precinct and its grounds into a p...erforming arts hub and vibrant cultural heritage in the heart of Logan. With access to public transport (Kingston Train Station) at its doorstep and state of the art facilities it is planned to become one of Queenslands best venues for hosting live entertainment and will bring audiences from both Brisbane and Gold Coast to Logan.

01.01.2022 Preserving our environment for future generations remains a top priority for Logan City Council, which will continue to invest in carbon reduction strategies in 2020/2021. Council is on track to reach carbon neutrality for its operations in 2022. Logan City Council aims to achieve its certification over the next two years via: - The enhanced measurement and monitoring of carbon emissions - Avoiding and reducing carbon emissions... - Embracing innovative renewable energy technology - Investigating options to invest in and support renewable energy projects - Offsetting remaining carbon emissions. - Where Council is unable to avoid, reduce or mitigate carbon emissions, these will be offset through certified carbon offset projects. The carbon reduction strategies are just one part of $9.9 million in budget initiatives to enhance our natural environment through a range of programs across the city.

01.01.2022 If you drive after drinking or taking drugs in Logan be prepared to get caught, because we're not gonna take it anymore!
