24.01.2022 Hello everyone, We are reposting this beautiful old photo from around 1954. If you can help us identify any of these Toolangi PS children, please get in touch and let us know. If you have some stories about life at Toolangi Primary School, we would love to hear from you.

23.01.2022 This morning we concluded our fungi investigation by baking honey brioche and learning about yeast. We learned that we could 'wake up' the yeast by adding it to milk heated to room temperature. The yeast would then eat the sugar from the flour, creating carbon dioxide which would make the dough mixture rise. As well as following the correct measurements from our recipe we also revisited mathematics concepts such as 'doubling', 'tripling' and 'ratios'.

23.01.2022 The beautiful sounds of marimba and glockenspiel floating through the school! Today children from Prep to Grade 6 improvised with the notes F, A, and C to create beautiful spontaneous music with a focus on rhythm.

23.01.2022 Hello everyone, we hope you are enjoying your school holidays. Please consider giving us some feedback about our school via this survey. It will only take 5 minutes but will help us plan for the future. https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/RM5F9CB Thank-you!

23.01.2022 Seedlings for Sale! Our children have potted up these seeds and seedlings with Julia. We have pumpkin, cucumber, zucchini, and sweet corn available for sale, with tomato seedlings coming soon. $1 each with all funds raised to go towards the purchase of a new wheelbarrow! Thankyou for your support!

22.01.2022 Senior class students measured out a segment of the beautiful Van Gogh artwork 'sunflowers' and experimented with texture and colour to create each individual piece. This is the result of the fantastic collaboration.

20.01.2022 Our Senior Class students are investigating the role native bees play in our environment. Whilst days like today are not great for spotting some of the 1600+ native bee species, we are looking forward to the arrival of the beautiful blue-banded bee in the warmer weeks ahead. We would love to see photos or hear stories of the native bees you have spotted in your gardens and during your bushwalks. This is some of what we have learned so far...

19.01.2022 A huge thank-you to a very generous community member who saw our seedling sale to raise funds for a new wheelbarrow. Today, we received a special surprise when a new wheelbarrow was delivered to school by a kind, thoughtful community member. The funds we have raised so far will now go towards seeds and seedlings for our veggie garden. What a great community we have here in Toolangi!

19.01.2022 Our students began creating sculptures of fungi in Term 2 and finished these off in art with Sophie today. We used cardboard, felt, paper and wire to create the fungi and then mounted them on the wood (substrate!) They look amazing!

18.01.2022 Today is our first opportunity to collect data on the pollinators that frequent our beautiful school. We will be collecting data for 10 minutes a day all of this week, before sending our results in to: https://wildpollinatorcount.com/

13.01.2022 Dear community, we have designed a survey to collect information about community engagement at our school. We hope these responses will be useful in planning forward and gaining a greater understanding of community perceptions, experiences and needs. Please click the link below- the survey should take approximately 5-10 minutes. https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/RM5F9CB The survey will remain open for 3 weeks. Thank-you.

13.01.2022 Our Senior class has been investigating fungi. This investigation has been a great way to use technology in different ways. Students took these photos using a digital microscope. Can you work out what type of fungi they might be?

13.01.2022 Our junior class students have begun weaving. Patience, undoing mistakes, and dexterity are all part of this beautiful calming and meditative process. Have a wonderful Long Weekend everyone!

09.01.2022 Toolangi CFA generously donated a defibrillator to our school, and now we have installed a cabinet to house the unit. Whilst the cabinet is alarmed, it is not locked. The defibrillator is available to the community 24 hours a day and is located outside the main office entrance. The device has been registered with Ambulance Victoria. We hope to run workshops for children, families, and the community on how to use the device in Term 3. Thank-you Toolangi CFA for your support!

08.01.2022 Week One of Term Three is drawing to an end. We are grateful to be back at school and teaching face to face. We get to enjoy beautiful mornings like this here.

07.01.2022 What a lovely day - the sound of children back playing in our school was a most welcome sound today! The arrival of blossoms is a stunning visual reminder of how beautiful our school is.
