25.01.2022 Toolangi Fire Brigade are proud to announce that two of our members were awarded the NSW Premier's Bushfire Emergency Citation, for service during the 2019-2020 NSW bushfires. Congratulations to Captain Dawn Hartog and Firefighter Michael Nardella for recognition in assisting our fellow NSW firefighters and their communities. The members of Toolangi Fire Brigade are honored to be able to assist our Victorian and interstate colleagues where we can.

15.01.2022 The CFA has declared this season's Fire Danger Period starts 1am 7th December The Murrindindi Shire has prepared some guidelines for the coming Fire Danger Period which are outlined on their website https://www.murrindindi.vic.gov.au ... For the duration of the CFA Declared Fire Danger Period, grass must be managed in the following manner: *Residential area - CUT AND REMOVE all grass and weeds to a height of 75 mm or less above the natural surface of the ground using manual or mechanical equipment. *Non-residential area: CUT A SIX METRE FIRE BREAK around the property boundaries by slashing or otherwise, to a height of 75mm or less above the natural surface of the ground. Those not complying with the above conditions will be issued with a Fire Prevention Notice. Failure to comply with a Fire Prevention Notice will result in fines exceeding $1600. To report a property as a potential fire hazard, please do so by completing our customer request form. You cannot light a fire in the open air unless you have a permit or comply with certain requirements. If you don't obtain a permit, you could be breaking the law and may be faced with heavy fines and/or prosecuted. All permitted burn-offs must be notified prior to burn being conducted. See more
