Good conditions and friendly wo...rk environment with on the job training. Successful applicants can expect to earn above award wages with regular overtime available. Regular work hours 7:30am til 4:00 pm daily Mon to Thurs and 7:30 til 2:00 pm on Fridays with only occasional weekend work. Apprentices receive training in both manual and CNC machining in addition to welding and fitting. Everyday is a new challenge with only occasional repetitious work. Upon completion of apprenticeship our tradesmen are not just button pushers they will have the capability to find work in any machine shop or maintenance crew. 14.01.2022 We are extremely proud of all of our apprentices and tradesmen and what they have achieved. Training requires a lot of patience but it is very rewarding when you see what a difference it makes to a young mans life. Bob has 45 years experience in the trade and Paul our manager has over 40 years experience. We have a wonderful group of young and older men working for us at the moment. We have a good range of machines to learn on (9 CNC machines - machining centres and lathes as well as many manual machines with digital read outs as well as welding equipment) to gain experience on. It is also an excellent trade to combine with a degree in Mechanical Engineering. A mechanical engineer with hands on experience in Fitting and Turning is extremely valuable.
