23.01.2022 I do so love it when the stars align (or, our beautiful share community does). On 26-Oct a future member asked us if we had this thing I’d never seen before.... Today, without even asking or mentioning it, our lovely partner Floreat Athena just happened to offer us one! Soil spreading project anyone? Messenger us to join TnTL. Between us, we have enough. #lessismore #borrownotbuy #toollibrary
21.01.2022 The Garage Sale Trail is an awesome Nation-wide program happening this weekend. It's your chance to either clean out your home & minimise your possessions, encourage others to re-use and up-cycle items to save them going to landfill and make a little cash $$! Or... pick up some pre-loved bargains. ** Win-win for everyone! ** Register for FREE with your local city council, and enjoy the benefits of a community circular economy while verge shopping across Perth all weekend. T...hey offer media and maps to join in as a buyer or seller. A reminder, neither the yellow recycling or red landfill bin is a suitable place for any electronics or furniture. Check if your local government offers you tip passes to dispose of unwanted items appropriately. Please learn the right thing, and look after our community and happy planet. If you have safe working tools or equipment you no longer need, might you consider donating them to Tools n Things Library?
19.01.2022 Tools n Things Library will be Kyilla Community Farmers Market this coming Saturday! If you've not been before, it's an awesome market to grab a coffee/breaky, support local businesses and relax with a picnic rug.
17.01.2022 How stoked are we?! An amazing and generous donation gifted to us by Bunnings Warehouse Australia in Innaloo. Check out their webpage for super-helpful skills workshops that they offer to help you with your clever projects. Message us to register your Membership, and start enjoying who-knows-what-fun-project-you-have-planned with these tools from our shared library community.
16.01.2022 Awesome waste-learning opportunity today and Thursday! I’ve toured both their facilities and found them both eye-opening and inspiring to know what can be done. You’ll appreciate the good, the bad and the ugly about our consumption habits. Highly recommended. There was still spots left as of an hour ago so jump in quick to register.
16.01.2022 A great and overdue step forward for Australia towards manufacturer accountability to repair existing items. One of the most offensively wasteful parts of our consumerist culture is buying items that companies are permitted to manufacture with planned obsolescence (ie can’t be repaired, and incompatible with ‘next years’ model). Slow the waste of duplicated and limited-life cycle items by borrowing from Tools n Things Library, because together, we have enough.
13.01.2022 A shout out to Officeworks who hooked us up with this terrific purpose-built *Handyman* first aid kit for our library. Their generosity towards keeping our volunteers safe is very much appreciated. A reminder to keep safety at the forefront of your minds while undertaking your renovations, hobbies and handy work, or using powered tools. ... Do you have the appropriate first aid kit and training for your job? Are you prepared, and able to keep you and your family safe? Think about keeping a kit in the house and a kit in the car. #SafetyFirst #toollibraries #borrownotbuy
12.01.2022 Our aim is to host WA's biggest clamp collection! What are we missing??? Have you got a couple to throw in? Remember, we are open this Weds 4-6pm, if you'd like to explore the shed.
11.01.2022 Any ideas on what one does with this tool? Humorous or wild guesses are also welcome. Sometimes we’re gifted with items we're not entirely sure about, so we’d love if you join the conversation. Should we keep it?
09.01.2022 A big shout out to Fremantle Men’s Community Shed who donated a boot-full of power and hand tools! The Fremantle Men's Community Shed run an amazing community centre - workshed, shop, garden, craft room and music rooms with jams sessions alternate weekends. We look forward to collaborating and sharing.

04.01.2022 Do we have any Members or Followers that are customers of P&N bank? They have a wonderful opportunity where they grant up to $2000/quarter to eligible community groups that could do with the *'Helping &nd'*. We are a new not-for-profit group run entirely by a small group of volunteers and dependent on donations for the benefit of our community and waste reduction. That kind of gift would make a huge difference to us and our success moving forward.... If you bank with P&N, might you consider nominating us? https://www.pnbank.com.au/about/community/helping-ands/
03.01.2022 Great news! Tools n Things Library is now a Containers for Change WA registered Scheme ID holder (C10339455). Next time you take your refundable beverage containers to a drop-off point, you can choose to donate your 10c refunds to our not-for-profit project and we'll re-invest it back into your community tool library for you. Not only that, but we welcome you to bring your empties directly to us when you're picking up and dropping off your tools, and we'll do the returning ...for you. If you haven't already visited one of the automated reverse vending facilities like the ones at myTOMRA Australia in Osborne Park, Kelmscott, Myaree, Joondalup, and Belmont - I highly recommend a visit. It is pretty fancy, and has rapidly caught Australia up with international standards. Simply save our Scheme ID QR code (in Comments below), then scan it in so your refunds will contribute to WA's first tool library's growth. In our efforts to reduce waste at its source, we continue to challenge you to refill and reuse containers wherever possible before recycling.
02.01.2022 What is this?! We're usually here to share what items we DO have, but sometimes we are gifted with items we're not entirely sure about. Join the conversation. We have our suspicions, but your facts or fiction are welcome....
