23.01.2022 Okay #Darwin, I’ve been getting lots of requests about buying cheeky Christmas presents. If you’re keen to stock up on festive gifts, then I’ll be at the Tactile Arts Christmas Craft Fair this SUNDAY at the Darwin Convention Centre See you there! Johanna Bell Note: I won’t be there on Sat, ONLY SUNDAY!

23.01.2022 Cheeky Dogs author Johanna Bell has been working on a side project for the last two years and it's just launched. Introducing ... BIRDS EYE VIEW, the first Australian podcast made by women in prison. We thought that some of you might like to hear some of the stories told by women in the Darwin Correctional Centre. If you know anyone else who might be interested, please pass it on ...

21.01.2022 Who let the cheeky dogs out!?

19.01.2022 Yay! Look what landed in bookstores today Our first book has been translated into #Kriol and we think it might be the first time that a big Australian Publisher has ever translated a text into Kriol. Big ups to Allen & Unwin Books Erica Wagner and everyone at Meigim Kriol Strongbala for making this happen. If you've got a little one who loves the first book, then this is the perfect sister text and a fabulous way to learn Kriol! You can order your copies from all good independent bookshops. Our faves in the NT are The Bookshop Darwin and Red Kangaroo Books

16.01.2022 This is the spot where you go to check out 4 stories of Dion Beasley’s cheeky dogs!

15.01.2022 Teachers, parents, caterers, schools ... do you know about Story Box Library? They bring picture books to life and we’re thrilled that they’ve just added Too Many Cheeky Dogs to their box. Enjoy!

15.01.2022 It’s always good to get some love from the Katherine Times!

10.01.2022 Meanwhile, down the highway in Dion’s home town of Tennant Creek, cheeky animals are popping up everywhere. But *where* is Dion!?

09.01.2022 Today, our first book ‘Too Many Cheeky Dogs’ made it into the K.O.A.L.A. Hall of Fame which means that kids picked it as one of their favourite books for 5 years. Biggest thanks to everyone who has read, shared and voted for our books over the years!

08.01.2022 Best thing! Carol Robertson, Shania Miller and Marlene Andrews from #Meigimkriolstrongbala in #ngukurr reading Bigismob Jigiwan Dog in Kriol yesterday at the Katherine Children’s Literature Festival. If you know a kid, family, or school class who might enjoy this book please help us by buying a copy. As the first ever book that @allenandunwin has translated into Kriol, EVERY sale counts! We recommend the The Bookshop Darwin , Red Kangaroo Books or any online seller. The more we sell, the more chance that the book will be translated into other languages. Thaaaaanks!

05.01.2022 Thanks to everyone who came to The Bookshop Darwin this morning to get a copy of Johanna’s new book and some cheeky favourites too.

04.01.2022 Hello Sydney, we’ve made it. First stop Harry's Cafe de Wheels to eat pie and feed the seagulls - so cheeky! Then a wander through Woolloomooloo to check out the sculptures. Dion wasn’t sure about the giant aubergine but the dragon, made entirely from Bunnings chain, caused quite a stir. Looking forward to seeing y’all on Saturday at the Powerhouse Museum for our Biennale yarn. Tix here https://maas.museum/event/nirin-yarn-with-dion-beasley/

03.01.2022 Oh. My. Goodness. Mouth. Open. Goodness.

03.01.2022 Look what made it into this stack of classics on this fab new mural painted by the ever-talented Dave Collins & Co at Stuart Park Primary School

02.01.2022 Absolutely thrilled that an excerpt from Dion Beasley’s memoir ‘Cheeky Dogs: To Lake Nash and Back’ has made it into this important collection edited by Carly Findlay OAM. Preorders available now!

01.01.2022 Johanna Bell, has a new book out! It doesn’t feature any cheeky dogs but there is a rather mischievous girl who comes up with an idea for bringing the bush to her beloved Granna who is stuck at home. If you live in Darwin, come get one of the first copies
