16.01.2022 Congratulations to Toombul DCC player Jack Balkin who was recently selected in the Queensland U15’s Schoolboys team. A great achievement, well done Jack.

16.01.2022 Weekend wrap Our top squad had their first trail game for the new season against norths, two games over Saturday and Sunday. Our Saturday game was restricted due to the weather. Toombul were sent in to bat first, young Jack Pilgrim (45) got us off to a good start who was well supported in the middle overs by Jono Knight (54) Some late hitting by Ronan McDonald (33) & Cranno (32) got us to 192.... Unfortunately the rain come and we could only bowl 9 overs with norths 1-25 when play was stopped. On Sunday, norths won the toss and selected to bat first. Chris knight bowled well finishing with 2-33 off 7 overs but the pick of the bowlers was young Tom Balkin 3-21 off 7. Tom Nicholson chipped in with 2-48 off 6 but norths finished with 219 off 50 overs. Unfortunately our top order couldnt get going with a lot of players getting starts. Ryan Walker 34 & Pranav Susarla 28 top scored but we fell 34 runs short, all out for 185. Lots of positives throughout the weekend and something our players can build on.

This week's SureFinity Insurance Brokers Player of the Round is Eshwin Kapoor who finishing with 5-22 off 8 overs (4th grade) in only his second senior game & Chris Knight 6-60 off 20 overs (1st grade) Honourable mention to Dan Cranitch 5-79 (2nd grade) Luke Maugeri (66 2nd grade) Michael Pease (66no 5th grade) William Pembroke (63 5th grade)... Unfortunately our first grade side went down in the last over in their T/20 grand final against Gold Coast yesterday. Chris Knight won player of the match with 32no and 4-23 off 4 overs.

09.01.2022 Training this weekend will be on SUNDAY between 9-11am. It will be a lot easier to train on Sunday when Mayne Juniors are not there as there are no guarantees what time the field and nets will be available. We Understand that may not work for everyone, let me know if you cant make it. As mentioned previously we will need to be flexible this year to work around a few variables.... Former test bowler Tony Dell will also be able to help our bowlers.

Phil produced a dominate individual performance in 2nd Grade's tight win with 4/24 and 48 not out. 03.01.2022 BACK TO BACK CLEAN SWEEPS! The Bulls are on the charge with 1st Grade, 2nd Grade and the Lord Taverners team all recording victories on the weekend. This week's SureFinity Insurance Brokers Player of the Round is once again big Phil Adams. Phil decimated a quality Wests top order to take 5/26 on the way to Second Grade cleaning up the Bulldogs up for 61. Phil was supported by Stockdale (3/23) who continued his strong start to the season.... First Grade caused a big boil over beating one of the powerhouse teams of the competition. The batting innings was propped up by half centuries to Renshaw (63), White (57) and McGill (52). Strong bowling performances by Knight (4/53) and McDonald (3/43) got the Bulls home in another tight victory. #GoBulls
