10.06.2022 Dont forget, this weekend the 7th of May - Paynesville Marine Safety Day - A free to public event The Gippsland Lakes Classic Boat Club has teamed up with the ...crew from Marine Safety Victoria and our friends from the Paynesville Coast guard to host a free to public event. So, if you are a boat operator, kayaker, or other watercraft user, come on down to Progress Jetty Paynesville on Saturday May 7th between 10:00am and 2:00pm and have a chat to the guys from MSV to learn or brush up on your responsibilities as a boat operator. Demonstration topics on the day include: 1) Advise on how to check and maintain your inflatable life jackets. 2) Correct EPIRB operation. 3) Flare demonstrations. 4) Proper use of radio communications equipment. 5) Discussions relating to the legal requirements of safety equipment onboard. 6) Tips for survival at sea. 7) Boat readiness and pre-season preparation. This is an open invitation to all boating, angling, and any other social groups, organizations and individuals that use or magnificent waterways. In addition the Paynesville Coast Guard will be in attendance with their food van, so come on down, grab a feed and sharpen your safety skills. And as an extra bonus, and assuming the Coast Guard are not out rescueing someone who may have benefited from attending the safety day, the big yellow CG22 rescue boat will be pulled up alongside Progress Jetty ready for inspection. 25.01.2022 Hi Members With these restrictions in place till the 13th September there might be some hope of the local September 19-20th comp might go ahead. We had a discussion at the last weigh in about the doubt that the Eden comp on 17-18th October won't go ahead because of the border closure and most member would like to go to Mallacoota instead so at this stage if we can travel by then plan around a Mallacoota trip for 17-18th October instead. Any questions please ask. thanks
