24.01.2022 Well our students had their last school day for 2020 and we said goodbye to those in Year 6. We have a fabulous teaching staff at TPS. You may have read in the newsletter that Miss Mary Costello, who teaches 5C is leaving us. Mary came to us as a prac student. She impressed us so much in 2018, we were delighted to offer her a position at TPS for the last 2 years, on Year 5. Mary has been an asset to the school and used her great dance, sporting talent and connections to adv...antage. The students loved the female sporting skills groups that Mary began at lunch times and felt this helped them to gain confidence in this area. As you may know, Mary used to work for Sydney Kings Basketball team and organised a match with players and the students. Mary also enjoys dance and taught a contemporary dance group which the students really enjoyed. We would like to take this opportunity to congratulate Mary in gaining a permanent position at Jordan Springs Public School, 10 minutes from her home. This is a brand new school that only opened in Term 4. We wish Miss Costello all the best for her new position and know she will be a wonderful addition to the school. TPS will miss you. Goodbye Miss Costello. See more
21.01.2022 Last week in our Cycling Home Sport program we learned how to change a flat tyre. A good challenge that helps build our skills towards being independent riders. This week we have two police from the Police Transport Unit joining us for a ride outside the school. An exciting opportunity to put our group riding skills and calling etiquette into practice. Parents will be invited to join us on the last day of term.
21.01.2022 TPS was excited to hold our first PBL/Buzz Assemblies for more than a year with parents and family members in attendance. It was a great assembly where the concert band entertained us with 2 numbers led by Mr Davison. Congratulations to all students who received this prestigious award. Badges will be presented next term. Well done to all the recipients who should be proud of their efforts. Our Buzz Morning tea will be held on Monday of Week 10.
17.01.2022 Students in our band program receive an hour and a half of music instruction each week, consisting of a 30-minute tutorial in their instrument and an hour-long rehearsal as a whole band. Is it hard work? Yes. Is it worth it? Definitely. Please enjoy this recording from the Concert Band's performance at last week's assembly. https://youtu.be/2rlIcTEsMZs
11.01.2022 As parents and students enjoy their first day of holidays, the staff are at school planning for next year. We are also saying goodbye to James McMurtry who has taught RFF in 2019-2020 and job-shared on 3R in 2018. James was an ex-student at TPS and was taught by Mrs Paton. We congratulate him on his first classroom teacher role at Rouse Hill Public School. Congratulations James and we hope you will continue to visit when something special is on. Best of luck for your future career.
08.01.2022 Just a reminder that after the clap out this afternoon Year 6 will be exiting the school through the gate on Binalong Oval. We encourage any family and well-wishers to wait on the oval and maintain social distance (and maybe bring some tissues for any tears!)

03.01.2022 This week we had 11 students competing at the Regional Cross Country Carnival. Well done to all our students who tried their best. Congratulations to Arjay from Year 4, who will now go to the state carnival. Thanks to Mr Howe and the parents who accompanied the students on Wednesday. We recognised all students at the 3-6 Assembly today. They will be presented with ribbons at a later date.
03.01.2022 Final changes to staff for 2020. We have big changes in the support unit next year. Mrs Kathleen Negus is moving to the Central Coast and announced on Wednesday that she is having a boy! We held a morning tea and she shared the exciting news with us. Most people would know that she is pregnant and we are very excited to welcome baby Negus in late April next year. Kathleen has been fabulous in our support unit due to her caring, patient and quiet nature and has been successful... in gaining a transfer to Wamberal Public School. She will also be taking maternity leave in Term 1 so will not be returning to TPS. Kathleen has completed 4 years at school, including teaching rff and working on KO and 1B one day each week. Congratulations on this exciting move Kathleen and for sharing the baby news. Miss Katie Park has been successful in gaining a permanent classroom teacher role in the support unit at the new Schofields school called Galungara. Katie has been with us for 2 years, after completing her prac at our school, teaching K-6P. She is a much loved classroom teacher and we wish her all the best for the future. Also going to the same school is our wonderful SLSO - Miss Jo - Jo Walters and they may even be working together? We wish you both all the best in your new positions in such a growing area. Finally, Miss Daniella Lamas will leave us for a position on class at Lethbridge Park support unit. Daniella had her first year as a classroom teacher in 2020 after teaching RFF last year. She has really enjoyed the challenges and will certainly be missed. Daniella always works hard and will be an asset to her new school. and we are very excited for her. All 4 will be big losses to our school but another step in their careers. Best of luck and please keep in touch. TPS is extremely lucky that you all helped to start our support unit in such a positive way. Congratulations to you all. The students and staff will all miss you. See more
01.01.2022 Happy holidays everyone! The teachers and staff are also on holidays now and all looking forward to the new year. Stay safe and enjoy the break everyone. 2020 has been a year we will never forget. Today we said goodbye to 12 staff. We will miss them but wish them all the best in their future careers. Goodbye and good luck. Thank you to you all for everything you have done for TPS. 11 of these staff managed a photo on Wednesday at the clap out. The missing one is Courtney Sim as she was with her Kindy class.
