25.01.2022 Elderly people are more prone to heat stress than younger people because their body may not adjust well to sudden or prolonged temperature change. They are als...o more likely to have a chronic medical condition and be taking medication that may interfere with the body’s ability to regulate temperature. Check in on someone elderly today who might be suffering in the extreme heat. For advice: https://www.betterhealth.vic.gov.au/heat

25.01.2022 Throughout the year, our fallen colleagues who died while on the job are never far from our thoughts. National Police Remembrance Day gives us an opportunity to... formally recognise their bravery and the sacrifice they made to protect our community. We honour their contribution to policing, the families and mates they left behind, and come together to support our blue family through the grief. To our fallen mates, THANK YOU. Your shift is done, but your spirit is with us every time we clock on. See more

12.01.2022 Today is the first day of Winter and as the cool weather hits it's time to stay warm around the fire place Sadly, each year we see an increase in the number o...f chimney fires from both fireplaces and wood heaters. Keep your home safe this winter by checking your chimney: Use a torch to check for creosote build-up or obstructions like bird nests. Have your chimney professionally cleaned annually.

10.01.2022 We will remember them and thank them for their sacrifice for the life we now lead.

07.01.2022 It’s been a tough few months here in Victoria, especially in Melbourne and if any year needs some early Christmas cheer, it really is 2020! So as our little wa...y spread some early Christmas cheer, we got together with our friends at FRV, VicPol, AV, SES, & FFMV. We work as one, and we make flashy light Christmas videos as one! 01.01.2022 Today, we reflect on the events of this time twelve years ago when 173 people tragically lost their lives in the 2009 fires. As our communities have forever changed, the loss will never be forgotten nor will the bravery of our firefighters.
