14.01.2022 Happy Halloween from the Toothbuds team. We all know how much kids love their candy, so to help you protect your childs teeth, we have created a quick guide to help you sift through your childs Halloween bounty. Chocolate : Chocolate is one of the safer Halloween sweets because it washes off your childs teeth quicker and easier than hard candy. And remember, dark chocolate has less sugar than milk chocolate. Gummy lollies : Gummy lollies stick to your childs teeth and th...erefore are harder to remove, giving cavity causing bacteria more time to work. Try and limit the gummy lollies your child eats at halloween. Hard candy : Hard candies are another one to limit on Halloween. Your child will tend to keep these kinds of lollies in their mouth for longer periods of time so the sugar is getting in their saliva and washing over their teeth. And in some extreme cases, hard candy has been the culprit of a broken or chipped tooth. Sour lollies : You may want to pass on sour candy all together, especially if they are sticky and coated in sugar. Sour candy can be very acidic. That acidity can weaken and damage the hard outer shell of your teeth, making your teeth more vulnerable to cavities. Popcorn : Plain popcorn is a safe favourite, but be sure to floss after eating as kernels can get stuck between your teeth. Try to limit ones that are covered in hard caramel or sugar. Finally, remember to have your child drink lots of water, brush regularly and floss daily which will contribute to keeping your childs teeth safe and clean during this period.

10.01.2022 Sound familiar? While our team loves kids being independent, we often see kids left to brush independently before they are ready. Before leaving them to their own (messy!) devices, ask yourself if your child can: - write their whole name with neat running writing, and - tie their shoelaces with their eyes closed... Once your child can pass both of these little tests, they have the co-ordination to fly solo with the toothbrushing!
