25.01.2022 QB prayer guide for June 4 Entitled: Community transformation Romans 12:2 Do not conform any longer to the pattern of this world but be transformed by the renewing of your mind.... Pray for all those who have heard the good news of Jesus for the first time, through online services and ministries at this time, may it be a step in their journey towards God. Ask God to help us reach out to the many ethnic and refugee groups who are part of our Queensland Community. Pray for the different areas and subgroups that make up Queensland including ministry to children, young people, men, women, elderly, rural, coastal, urban, regional etc. Pray for those who hold to other religions or non-Christian world views, that there would be opportunities to engage them in talking and thinking about the gospel. Blessings Pastor Dave

23.01.2022 Good afternoon everyone, For the coming Sunday service I would recommend everyone having a pen and a piece of paper (and bible!) with them. The sermon (from Proverbs) contains a lot of material, some of which may be new to you, as such taking some notes may prove useful. I trust it will be of benefit to you. Blessings Pastor Dave Prov 1:7 -The fear of the Lord is the beginning of knowledge; fools despise wisdom and instruction.... . See more

16.01.2022 Good morning everyone, A brief update on our Sunday gatherings. From this Sunday, our Sunday morning music will be live-streamed! Thanks to Georgia and her team who are up first!! The purpose is to give the audio/tech team time to understand the new live-streaming system and to be ready to stream the whole service come July 12th. Please DO NOT come to the church hall to watch, as we are still under fairly tight restrictions and are only catering for audio/tech workers and mus...icians.The following Sunday (July 5th) the whole service should be live i.e. music, sermon, bible reading etc, but again please DO NOT come to the church hall. Parents please note - 9am childrens ministry is aiming to begin on the 19th of July. 10:45am childrens ministry is still suspended until further notice. TBT will remain online until further notice. This Sunday Mark Westhuyzen from QB will be preaching from the gospel of Mark on the place of Gods family. Its a challenging sermon but one I think we can benefit greatly from. May it help us to better understand our place in Gods family, the church. God bless Pastor Dave

16.01.2022 Good afternoon all, John Mansfield from Baptist World Aid will be visiting us this Sunday. Please come along to hear about the work BWA are doing, and how our support is being used to help children and communities overseas. 15.01.2022 Happy New Year brothers and sisters! Below is a song that was originally written back in the 1800's. It was a hymn sung especially on New Year's Day! It speaks of dedicating the coming year to the Lord and asking that the Father would be glorified in us no matter what happens. Here are the lyrics:... Father let me dedicate all this year to Thee (nb. The version below says 'life' instead of 'year'). In whatever worldly state Thou would have me be Not from sorrow, pain or care, freedom dare I claim This alone shall be my prayer, glorify Thy name Can a child presume to choose where or how to live? Can a Father's love refuse all the best to give? Let my glad heart, while it sings, There in all proclaim And, whatever the future brings, glorify Thy Name Be glorified in me, be glorified Be glorified in me, be glorified May this be our song and prayer for 2021 and beyond. God bless Pastor Dave Eph 3:20-21 "Now to him who is able to do far more abundantly than all that we ask or think, according to the power at work within us, to him be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus throughout all generations, forever and ever. Amen." https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=w7llOkhfYks

15.01.2022 Our International Congregation this morning. This was the first Sunday back after many months of restrictions. We are taking small steps to return back to normal, but its such a blessing to be able to meet and sing together. Praise God!

14.01.2022 QB prayer guide for June 1 Entitled: God is Still in Control Isa 55:9 -As the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways and my thoughts than your thoughts."... Acknowledge God is Lord of all and sovereign over all the earth. The COVID-19 Crisis has not caught God by surprise. Pray that that God will use this season to bring the realization that we all need to reach out to God during these times. Pray for forgiveness when we individually and corporately seek to usurp his kingship by going our own way. Pray for leaders in our churches, and in our wider society that they will be led to recognise the sovereignty of God and make decisions in line with his will. Pray prayers of worship and adoration extolling the character and greatness of our God.

14.01.2022 Good morning brothers and sisters I hope Sunday's service was a blessing to you and that you've been challenged by our series from the book of Proverbs. This Sunday will be our final look at this book and it's all about the 'beginning' of wisdom. Also, as I mentioned yesterday we are reopening this Sunday for our corporate service. If you intending to attend please email [email protected] today to confirm your attendance as we will have limited seating. I am hoping by Tuesday afternoon to have our numbers confirmed. God bless and I look forward to seeing you soon. Pastor Dave

13.01.2022 Good afternoon everyone, A special offer! Queensland Theological College has a great offer for online learning at the moment. Please read the email below and if you are interested please email/text me. It would be great if we can get a small group together and go through this material together. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------... Old Testament Online Units Available (from Queensland Theological College) "We understand that the move to online church takes some adjusting to. At QTC we are uniquely placed with online resources that, during this present situation, might be very useful for many local churches. For this reason, we have decided to offer the material from our two Introductory Old Testament units at a heavily reduced audit price. This would mean that you would have full access to the lectures (some video, some audio, some readings) which can be used in individual or group settings within your church." "The total cost is $200 per person for both of the two Old Testament online units (25% of our usual auditing fee, which is normally $400 per participant for each unit)." "This offer is available until the 30th of June 2020. Once signed up, participants will have access to our online materials for the two Old Testament units, for six months in total." QTC Admin ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- If you are interested please email me ([email protected]) asap so I can try and organise a group.

13.01.2022 Dear all, A wonderful opportunity to be generous in the month of June is detailed below. Please read and give generously :) -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- A Unique Opportunity before June 30th - Baptist World Aid... As we all grapple with the coronavirus, it is easy to feel a bit helpless. The good news is that there is something you can do. You can give to the Matching Grant Appeal and provide hope to vulnerable families overseas what a blessing to be part of this good news! And this year for the first time and perhaps the only time! ever the Australian Government has generously increased their matching of funds to us. That means that instead of the usual, maximum 6x the impact, your generosity will be matched by up to 10:1! (Dave - This means for every $1 we give, the Australian government will give Baptist World Aid $10). This pandemic represents a great risk to many already vulnerable communities across the world, but still we have hope we are not deterred because there is still much that can be done. And Baptist World Aid, along with our Christian partners on the ground are committed to doing all that we can will you join us? With your support our Christian partners can equip vulnerable families living in poverty to face and overcome this outbreak. And when possible, restore their livelihoods. To make a tax deductable gift visit: https://baptistworldaid.org.au/appeals/matching-grant/ -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- God bless and please give generously! Pastor Dave

12.01.2022 Good morning IC family, This Sunday Ian Hussey (a lecturer from Malyon college) will be speaking on the Sluggard from the book of Proverbs (6:6-11; 22:13; 26:14). Its a challenging yet uplifting sermon (delivered from his study desk!) which gives plenty of food-for-thought. As I mentioned earlier this week, we will have a representative from Compassion Australia coming next month to share with us about their work. Compassion seeks to support children and their families throu...gh a sponsorship program in association with local churches. I think this is one of the better programs going around and would encourage everyone to seriously consider sponsoring a child or two especially if you have not done so before. The goal will be to sponsor as many children as we can from one area (likely to be in the Philippines) with the hope of organizing a trip as a group (through Compassion) to visit our sponsor children in the future. Grace and peace Pastor Dave :- - , . ; . P.S. For those looking forward to the interview that was to be shown this Sunday, unfortunately that will no longer be taking place (interviewees request). 11.01.2022 Hi everyone, A quick reminder that our IC Sunday service begins tomorrow at 8:30am. Also please remember to bring along your own bible :) Blessings Pastor Dave

11.01.2022 Good morning everyone, I trust you were blessed by Ian's sermon on the sluggard on Sunday. It's encouraging to know that our labour in the Lord is not in vain because of Christ's resurrection. I also found it uplifting to think of God as the original initiator - initiating both our creation and our redemption. May we always give Him thanks especially for the love that initiated our salvation (Rom 5:8). In other important news, the IC diaconate (including myself) met over th...e weekend. It was decided that our Camp scheduled for October this year, would be postponed until May 2021. I know that for many of you this will be disappointing however there were various reasons for the delay including: the social distancing measures that are likely to still be in place and the uncertainty of what other restrictions will still be in force. Also, the campsite has offered us the long weekend in May next year which we thought would be a good time to have our camp (being only around 7 months later). If you have any further questions you'd like to ask please feel free to email either myself or the IC deacons. God bless Pastor Dave Proverbs 25:28 - A man without self-control is like a city broken into and left without walls. See more

11.01.2022 Good afternoon IC family, Church council met on Saturday for our monthly meeting. The recent announcement from the Prime Minister about lifting restrictions was discussed, however, no firm decisions were made as the news was too recent. Please be in prayer for the churchs leadership as we discuss a way forward, and what meeting together might look like in the future. I plan to send out information as decisions are made though please understand this process will take some ti...me as there are numerous issues we need to consider e.g. social distancing rules, childrens ministry etc. Brothers and sisters, Im really looking forward to the time we can be together again to worship our God! It will be great!! Until then, may God continue to bless you and make His face shine upon you and give you peace. Pastor Dave See more

10.01.2022 Good afternoon IC family, The church's new CoVid safe-plan has been uploaded to our church's website. Please scroll down to 'Recent News' and click on the link. 10.01.2022 QB prayer guide for June 2 Entitled: Showing the Compassion of Christ in our Needy World Matthew 14:14 When Jesus landed and say a large crowd, he had compassion on them and healed their sick. Pray for a willingness to allow God through his spirit to shape and mold us all to become more and more like Jesus.... Pray for our political and community leaders that they will have Gods wisdom as they lead us through the current health crisis and into the new future. Pray for those who have experienced sorrow and grief through the loss of loved ones, health, financial security and emotional unsettledness this year. Pray that each follower of Jesus will allow God to model and speak the gospel through their words and actions, bringing hope to our community. Blessings Pastor Dave

10.01.2022 "The revelation of Jesus Christ, which God gave him to show to his servants the things that must soon take place" (Rev 1:1). We begin our new series from the book of Revelation this Sunday. The series is entitled, 'The reign and return of the risen King, Jesus.' If you haven't already start ending through the book I would encourage you to do so. May our love and confidence in Jesus increase as a result of this series. Pastor Dave

10.01.2022 Good afternoon brothers and sisters, In preparation for our Sunday service please read Proverbs 9:1-18 & Psalm 2. We will be looking at the phrase the fear of the LORD is the beginning of wisdom. A reminder also to have a pen and notepad ready as there is quite a lot of information in these introductory sermons and a few brief notes may help you to reflect and discuss what youve heard later on in the day. On a different note, I have been reading a book by Effie Munday c...alled "Path light at my feet - A Grief Journey." This is a reflection by Effie on the time just before her husband Johns passing, and then for a number of years afterward. It is a somber yet hopeful book which I think would benefit anyone who reads it. If you would like to borrow the book please let me know. God bless Pastor Dave See more

09.01.2022 Good afternoon IC family, As I mentioned previously, we will be starting a new series from the book of Proverbs this week. I encourage you to be reading through it as individuals/families to become more familiar with it. For those with young children I highly recommend a cd by the group Sovereign Grace called "Walking with the wise." Its theologically sound, the songs are based on Scriptures from Proverbs, and the music is of a high quality. Theyll learn about topics like:... loving wisdom, fearing the Lord, generousity, laziness, honesty, confession, trusting God, friendship etc. https://www.youtube.com/watch Finally, I will be contacting QTC this week to tell them how many people are interested in auditing their OT units. If you are interested please contact me asap. God bless Pastor Dave See more

09.01.2022 Dear brothers & sisters, As a result of the lockdown our Sunday service will be online this week. Also, the quarterly member's meeting, scheduled for Sunday afternoon, has been postponed to Sunday the 24th of January. God's blessing and strength Pastor Dave

08.01.2022 We begin a new short series on the book of Philippians this Sunday. First sermon Phil 1:1-11. Also, an article with a helpful perspective given our current politized climate. God bless Phil 1:21 For to me to live is Christ and to die is gain. https://au.thegospelcoalition.org//evangelists-in-no-mans/

08.01.2022 Time to set your reminders for tomorrow's International Congregation Service. 9am - "see" you all there! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5StLdcPAG-w

07.01.2022 Dear IC family, It was great to have a number of you join in prayer with other brothers and sisters from nearby Baptist churches last night. Below is the prayer guide from QB for today (June 5). Colossians 1: 13-14 For he has rescued us from the dominion of darkness and brought us into the Kingdom of the Son he loves, in whom we have redemption, the forgiveness of sin.... Praise God for those who have been coming to faith in Christ in recent times. Pray that we will all have stories of God at work in our life that we can share with family, neighbours, friends, and colleagues. Pray for those who have come to faith from difficult backgrounds, that they will grow and be nurtured in their relationship with Jesus. Pray for those who have lost the material things they trusted in that they will find security in trusting God. Pray for those you know who are still living under the dominion of darkness in their lives. Blessings Pastor Dave

07.01.2022 Happy Ascension Day church! Today marks the 40th day of Easter, and the day when Jesus ascended to heaven (Acts 1:3-11). Why is this important? Here are four reasons. 1 - It was Jesus' enthronement to be the (human) king of the world (Dan 7, Rev 1:5). 2 - It shows Christ's work on the cross was accepted by God and therefore the work of salvation had been achieved (Heb 9:11-12). 3 - It means our great high priest is in the presence of God interceding on our behalf (Heb 7:23-...25)). And where Jesus is, by faith, so are we (Col 3:1-3). 4 - With Christ in heaven our salvation is secure because we are in Him. When He returns He will not leave heaven (for then our salvation would be lost), rather He will bring heaven to earth and so once again God will dwell with us and us with God (2 Thess 7-10; Rev 21:3)! So church, happy Ascension Day! Pastor Dave See more

05.01.2022 Good morning brothers and sisters, A quick reminder to those who would like to attend our Sunday service this weekend but are not part of a community group to send an email today to [email protected] to confirm your intention. I look forward to seeing you there! This week Charles will be opening up Gods word for us and the title of the sermon is What Job wanted, we have. It is based on Job 16 and I would encourage you to read it before hand.... Finally, please continue to be in prayer at all times and in all circumstances. Pray for our nation, pray for our church and the church worldwide, pray for yourself and above all pray that Gods name would be glorified. We live in uncertain times, but God is in control and is still bringing about His plans and purposes. May we find our resting place in Him and His power and might. Jeremiah 16:19-21 - Lord, my strength and my stronghold, my refuge in a time of distress, the nations will come to you from the ends of the earth, and they will say, Our ancestors inherited only lies, worthless idols of no benefit at all. 20 Can one make gods for himself? But they are not gods. 21 Therefore, I am about to inform them, and this time I will make them know my power and my might; then they will know that my name is the Lord. Pastor Dave

04.01.2022 Good afternoon IC family, A few reminders for you 1) The Sunday service bulletin is still being produced each week in electronic form. You can find it on the churchs website by clicking on the Menu icon at the top of the page and looking under Weekly Bulletin. It contains important information and updated news you may wish to peruse. 2) For those who previously made offerings to the church via cash, I would encourage you to now make your offerings electronically. The ch...urchs bank account details can be found on the bulletin. Please be sure to include the reference, TBCIC. 3) If you were a regular attendee at TBC before our move online, please note that our community groups are continuing to meet (online). If you would like to join one of these groups please email our deacons at [email protected], and they will direct you to an appropriate group. God bless Pastor Dave See more

04.01.2022 Good morning everyone, A couple of matters for you be aware of QB (Queensland Baptist) is encouraging churches to dedicate extra time to praying during the first week of June. This is in response to the current circumstances around the world and to seek Gods face at such a time as this. I will send out more details over the coming week but I do encourage individuals, families and community groups to think about how they will spend more time in prayer during the first week of... June. Compassion Australia will be coming to share with us in June. They do a fantastic job of lifting children and families from poverty in Christs name, utilizing local churches to make it happen. If you are unfamiliar with their work I would strongly encourage you to visit their website to find out more and to consider becoming a sponsor. Again, I will be sending out more information in the coming weeks. God bless Pastor Dave

04.01.2022 Dear IC family, This coming Sunday I will be speaking from the book of Proverbs on the issue of wisdom and sex. As such, I would encourage parents to be listening along with their teenagers in order to be able to talk about the sermon. For those with younger children, I would encourage you to think about whether you think this would be appropriate for them. The passages we will be looking at are Proverbs 5 and 30:18-20. In regards to the church re-opening for Sunday services..., our aim is to have our first service on the 12th of July. Yay! However, please be in prayer for this as there are numerous logistical issues and government regulations we need to comply with before this can happen. We are still receiving new updates from QB on a weekly basis, which itself is receiving updates from the Queensland government on a regular basis!! Hopefully though, everything will come together and we will be meeting together from the second Sunday in July :) I will continue to send out more information about seating procedures, cleaning requirements, number of worshippers etc over the next couple of weeks. God bless Pastor Dave Proverbs 19:21 - "Many are the plans in the mind of a man, but it is the purpose of the Lord that will stand." See more

04.01.2022 Good morning brothers and sisters, A bible reading challenge for the month of May! 31 chapters in Proverbs. 31 days in May. A chapter of wisdom a day for this month! We begin our sermon series on Proverbs Sunday week and as such reading through Proverbs would be good preparation. I would recommend reading through the chapter for the day and then selecting one or two verses to meditate on for the rest of the day. I trust it will be a blessing to you. In Christ... 03.01.2022 Good afternoon TBC, For those attending our camp this weekend, please pray for the weekend (e.g. speaker, musicians, camp organisers, attendees etc) and read through Philippians 2 and 3 as preparation. For those not attending, please check the website of the church you are planning to visit before you go (for rego purposes). (The livestreaming of the Sunday morning camp service should begin around 8:30am). God bless... Pastor Dave Phil 3:7ff But whatever were gains to me I now consider loss for the sake of Christ. 8 What is more, I consider everything a loss because of the surpassing worth of knowing Christ Jesus my Lord, for whose sake I have lost all things. I consider them garbage, that I may gain Christ. See more

01.01.2022 Good afternoon everyone, For our Sunday service: Bible reading: Hebrews 13:1-25 (though well be looking at 12:18-29 as well). Songs: 1) God with us 2) Come Thou Fount 3) This life I live Response song: Chorus of the saved... Below is a link to the official version of "Chorus of the Saved." I would encourage you to read/listen to the lyrics as they very much tie in with the message of Hebrews especially the passage we are looking at this Sunday. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ilpVNCSOH8k God bless Pastor Dave See more

01.01.2022 Good morning TBC, We are finishing our look at the book of Philippians this Sunday (Phil 4:1-9. We'll look at Phil 4:10-23 another time). That means next Sunday we begin our series on the book of Revelation! I would encourage everyone to read through Revelation at least one before we begin. Don't worry about what you can't understand, rather rejoice in the plans of God, the victory of the Lamb and know that God has promised to bless us as we hear and keep what this book says, for the time is near!! In Christ Pastor Dave

01.01.2022 Good morning everyone, I trust you were blessed by Ians sermon on the sluggard on Sunday. Its encouraging to know that our labour in the Lord is not in vain because of Christs resurrection. If you have any further questions youd like to ask please feel free to email either myself or the IC deacons. God bless Pastor Dave Proverbs 25:28 - A man without self-control is like a city broken into and left without walls. See more
