24.01.2022 Bears Rugby will be celebrating the end of season through an end of year function at the Royal Hotel on Friday evening, October 16th. The club invites all Bears members who would like to attend from across the whole club ie. Juniors, Teenage, Seniors. The night will also serve as the Seniors Presentation night and the presentation of the major award of Club Person of the year from our club. Our Invitation includes partners, parents and friends. We are also inviting our Sponso...rs in appreciation for their support this year. However due to COVID restrictions we are limited with seating to 60 but have the opportunity to have up to 100 with the addition of an adjoining area. Therefore we need to know numbers asap this week if you are wishing to attend so that we can set menus, costs etc. The evening costs will include a sit down meal with complimentary wine and beer for a limited time. 23.01.2022 Bears have all three of our teenage girls in the finals this weekend . Our under 13, 15 and under 17 girls will play in the teenage grand finals starting at 11 am at berghofer stadium on Saturday, come and cheer them along and hopefully they will set the stage for a bears wipeout taking out 4 grand finals this weekend with the a grade and teenage girls.

23.01.2022 What an absolutely fantastic Grand Final day for the Bears Rugby Club. Thank you to Downs Rugby for allowing this year to happen and to all the referees for their time and effort. Congratulations ladies, Winners in the U/13, U/15 and U/17 girls sevens comp. Fought hard and definitely Well deserved. It’s been 10 years since we last had our hands on the Risdon Cup but she is finally back. To all the boys that played A and B grade this year every single one of you had a part of winning the cup. It’s been a hard year for the bears again but we showed true Bears spirit and never gave up and kept fighting until the end. 14.01.2022 We are heading to the Grand Final. Our Toowoomba TyrePower A Grade men have cemented their spot in the Wagner’s Risdon Cup A Grade GF with a dominant win over a well drilled USQ side 44-25. B Grade unfortunately went down to a clinical Warwick side 43-0. The score did not represent the game at all. The B grade boys all through this year have never stopped having a crack until the final whistle which is a great testament to their characters. I can see that side going one step further next year. 06.01.2022 What an absolute ripper of a come back in the A grade game yesterday against USQ. The boys were down 17 nil going into half time but there was no doubt in their minds that they were still in it. The saints scored early in the second half leading 24 nil Until the forwards kicked it up another gear and got on the front foot, stealing line outs, pilfering and counter rucking which never stopped until the final whistle blew. The backs showing their class with some hard running, s...lick ball skills, precision kicking and rock solid confidence killing defence which lead to 5 second half try’s and 3 conversions.
