16.01.2022 Firefighters and a number of our emergency service partners are working to keep the community safe today instead of spending time with their loved ones on Mothe...rs Day. When a few of the members of our C platoon crew let us know how they felt about the people who have raised, guided and supported them over the years, we couldnt resist organising a Mothers Day surprise! Wishing a happy Mothers Day to all of the mothers in our workforce and in the community we serve.

06.01.2022 Just a reminder , that despite the weather the Pioneer Village and the Fire Museum will be open all day from 9 am on Easter Monday .

05.01.2022 On this day at approximately 4pm on January 19, 1882, the Toowoomba Fire Brigade Board was formed at a meeting held at the now former Toowoomba Court House. From its beginnings as a volunteer Fire Brigade in 1870 to its evolution as the Toowoomba City Council controlled Toowoomba Fire Brigade in 1877, it was felt that both Toowoomba and the Brigade were now large enough to be recognised and receive State Government recognition, funding, operational legislation and adminis...trative assistance which would bring the Brigade into compliance with the Queensland Fire Brigade Act of 1881. For over a century the Toowoomba Fire Brigade Board consisted of local citizens of Toowoomba working alongside Fire Brigade management in a committee format to deliver a successful Fire Brigade to the citizens of the Toowoomba district. Below are some photos of the Local Board throughout the years and some original footage from our archives from the meeting held on this day all those years ago. See more
