24.01.2022 Another blessed (pretty chilly) night behind the Old Inn where we had a few awesome people drop in with most appreciated donations! The fab socks that Vicki's m...um Helen knitted went down a treat! John was over the moon with his red pair, that matched his jacket John is one of our regulars who ALWAYS has a smile on his face and is so appreciative of everything he receives, including the chicken and rice meal he had tonight and his fave coloured socks The biscuits from Mary McKillop were handed out with extra hot (nothing is impossible at TCK) cuppas, Bec from Wyreema dropped by with some new super warm coats and socks and we also had a visit from Evan, donating bread that Toowoomba South Rotary Club had leftover from their Bunnings Sizzle today AND we also received an abundance of beautiful meals from the Smolenski family! Thanks so much everyone Our awesome Rachel came prepared for her shift tonight, after previously giving her shoes away 2 weeks ago and then her jacket the week after. And talking of shifts, introducing week one volunteers for our Wed nights - myself with Nev (who is 7 nights a week), Greg (who is 7 nights a week) and Kathryn Anthony is also a regular Wednesday nighter along with Jo (who is also 7 nights a week!) Tony's Community Kitchen Together as a Community we have filled an after hours gap that has not only assisted homeless people at weekends when everything else is shut, but also struggling families who are working who can pop by for bread and salad and apples for FREE between 4.30 and 6.30 every single night of the year Another blessed night behind the Old Inn! 10.01.2022 Did you know that you can support Tony's Community Kitchen when you recycle your bottles & cans? Not only are you helping the environment by recycling but you'...re giving money to a worthy charity For a bit of fun, you can download the Containers for Change App, & the kids (or you ) can scan the containers to see if they are eligible or not. There's a couple of games on there too... the Recycle Race and the Recyculator! You can also use the App to find your nearest refund point and add the TCK scheme ID 10419901 so your donation goes straight to Tony's Kitchen. I take my containers to the TOMRA Recycling Centre at 104 Neil Street. Back my car in near the roller door, type in the scheme ID 10419901, tip the containers into the bag... so easy!

08.01.2022 A smile for Sunday morning..

01.01.2022 SPACE AGE VEGE GROWN FOR CHARITY A new method of growing crops has produced fruit for a new partnership between Yalara Hydrogardens and TAFE Queensland. Yalara ...Hydrogardens were allowed access to the cutting-edge vertical farming facility at TAFE Qld’s Toowoomba campus. The ‘Grow Pod’ was created to trial the production of protected horticulture a method that seems very attractive for producers with mice and locusts currently on the war path. The first harvest from the pod, a crop of lettuce, will be donated to the charity Oz Harvest. : Carissa Kemp, TSBE
