25.01.2022 For the first weekend of Carnival of Trains (Saturday September 19 and Sunday September 20) we had lots of visitors and got lots of positive comments from them about our clubhouse and layouts. People have been very willing to follow our Covid protocols and we have had a very convivial atmosphere in the clubhouse. We will be open tomorrow, Monday September 21 from 10.00am to 4.00pm, and based on the number of visitors we get then, we will make further decisions about our opening days for the remainder of the Carnival of Flowers (up to Sunday September 27). If there are subsequent days when we aren’t open, we will advise in advance by Facebook.
23.01.2022 Toowoomba Model Railway Club’s "Carnival of Trains" is scheduled for Saturday September 19 till Sunday September 27, 10.00am to 4.00pm at the clubhouse: Toowoomba Showgrounds. This is one of the community events that is run in conjunction with the 2020 Toowoomba Carnival of Flowers. Visit Toowoomba, see the beautiful gardens, and visit our clubhouse and see our club layouts (in a variety of scales) in operation, as well as our model railway museum. Gold Coin donation apprecia...ted. "Carnival of Trains is a Covid Compliant event. Official Queensland Government Covid-reated protocols will be followed. The clubhouse will be open to visitors on Saturday September 19 and Sunday September 20. Due to Covid, we are uncertain as to the number of visitors that we are likely to receive. Our clubhouse has a capacity of 40 persons, all exercising social distancing. On the other hand, If visitor numbers on the first two days are very low, we may decide to not continue the event after September 20. Hopefully, this will not be necessary. Any changes to the schedule will be advised via Facebook. Enquiries about the event can be made to 0416 472 604. See more

21.01.2022 The clubhouse will be open this Saturday for a running day between 2pm - 5pm.Jamestown has been cleaned after been in lockdown for a few months. It was recently tested out by SNCF 2-8-2 steam loco hauling a rake of SNCF passenger coaches. The loco is a recently acquired donation and the coaches were part of the European rolling stock collection that the late Jim Russell donated to us as part of the "Jamestown" package. Non members are now permitted, but all who enter will be required to follow our strict protocols which are displayed at the club entrance. These will involve hand sanitising on arrival and departure, social distancing, the signing of a waiver document, provision of a contact phone number and a limit of 20 people in the clubhouse at once.

16.01.2022 Important information to all members and guest regarding activities at the clubhouse over the next couple of weeks. This saturday (8 august) is our monthly running day where members can run their trains on the club's layout with visitors more than welcome to come along and veiw. This is one of the last chances we have to make sure locomotives and layouts are at high operating standards before carnival of trains in September. Saturday August 15, there will be no access to the club due to the Monster Trucks event at the showgrounds. Locomotive in the photo is lner d16/3 "claud hamilton", simmering away at jamestown main platform, waiting for the single line to be clear, possibly a branch line goods.

04.01.2022 As you will most likely now be aware, the 2020 Heritage Bank Toowoomba Royal Show has been cancelled so of course the Model Trains won't be available for viewing. We sympathize with the RASQ on having been dealt this vicious blow, but unfortunately we are all in the same position with the Coronavirus and the RASQ has taken a responsible move in their actions.
