25.01.2022 Goals. Try new things under mandatory social distancing/quarantine. Mexi-coke vs Mexi-Pepsi... Yes, I TRIED the Mexi-Pepsi, but since I am an Atlanta girl, nothing is better than a Mexi-coke. Coke headquarters are in Atlanta. As a health professional, it may surprise many of you that I would suggest drinking Mexi-cokes . Yet, I have and I do. Here is why. A Mexi-coke is an easy to digest energy source. A Mexi-coke contain sugar over HFCS. A Mexi-coke contains electrolytes. A Mexi-coke can be used as a successful headache or migraine cure. It can help with nausea and/or an upset stomach. It can give you energy OR hydrate you during or after a challenging workout. A Mexi-coke is a food-tool that can be used for the purpose of making you feel better. Plus, it tastes great! Can drinking Mexi-coke be a part of Metabolically supportive diet? Yes, 100%. Should everyone consume Mexi-coke daily to support their health? Nope, Of course not. No nutritional/health advice will be true for all people. Anyone, that is consuming an excess of energy/calories and wants to lose weight should avoid drinking Cokes, or at least minimize them. It is always best to consume energy/food with a high amount of nutrition, and if you are trying to decrease energy intake, avoiding low nutrient foods is best. If you are trying to increase metabolic rate, eating nutrient dense sugars (fruits, juice, roots, honey and dairy) should always be your first option. Yet, a coke, due to is ease of digestion, can also be used to provide your body with the needed energy/minerals, it so desperately needs. Personally, I limit my Mexi-coke intake to a few a week. If you opt to add a few cokes into your weekly food plan, then make sure your nutrition is on par. Mexi-coke, like all sugars, will increase your metabolism. Increasing your metabolism will increase your bodys need for nutrition. Thus, drinking a bunch of coke without added nutrition can create nutritional deficiencies, making you feel worse. In addition, like all sugars, make sure you combine a coke with adequate fat and protein to help regulate your blood sugar. Bottom line: There is nothing wrong with a few cokes a week. In fact, a few Mexi-cokes can support a healthy metabolism. However, this does not mean more is better, especially if your body is not ready for the added energy. Too many Cokes, too quickly will lead to weight gain, blood sugar issues, and possible nutritional deficiencies.

There was mould growing inside of the unit from moisture produced by the unit It wasnt bad but you dont want mould around right! Its totally worth servicing your Air Con and getting it fully cleaned Spick n Span, shiny like new As we are coming into Winter .....:and this is the time of colds and flus, cleaning up your home and eliminating dust and mould will lighten the load on your immune system:) Healthy Home Healthy People Here is the business, definitely would recommend him https://m.facebook.com/airservicetech/

22.01.2022 Covid-19 lockdown food! Im bringing back a classic....and its sooooo easy peasy! Dulce del Leche in the oven:) You will need 2 cans of skim sweetened condensed milk;)... Optional teaspoon salt and teaspoon of vanilla essence... Preheat your oven to 425F (220C). Get out a Pyrex container large enough to easily hold the 2 cans of condensed milk. I poured some water in the roasting pan and then placed the Pyrex dish in there to see if worked. Pour the contents of the sweetened condensed milk cans into the pyrex dish and cover the pan tightly with foil. The last thing you want is water in your dulce de leche. Fill the roasting pan with enough water so that it goes halfway up the sides of the pan. Bake for 1 1/2-2 hours, or until the a deep caramel color. Check to make sure that the water is still halfway up the side of the pie pan after the first 45 minutes. Remove from oven....I then add a good teaspoon of salt and a dash of vanilla.... although you dont need too! I whizz the mixture til smooth.... The dulce de leche will look a little strange and not smooth like above. Stir it until smooth. Itll thicken a bit while cooling. Cover and store in the fridge. This will keep good for a few weeks in the fridge. I serve this in the morning on milk powder pancakes with ice cream

13.01.2022 Covid-19 Frugal Recipes Today I made a big batch of Apple Pure and I used Star Anise to flavour . Its absolutely deviiiine!!!! So heres all you need:... 1kg to 1.5kg of Granny Smith apples (you can use red) I love the tartness of green apples 1 cup of raw organic sugar or any other substitute 1litre of water 2 star anise pods 1 teaspoon salt Peel and core your apples, place in a saucepan or a pressure cooker for 10min or until soft. Remove the star anise pods when done and whizz up with a bamix... This is a great sauce to add to cottage cheese, pork, lamb... pikelets! Green apples make the best applesauce. When you combine tart with salt and sugar along with the high note of the star anise the tastebuds just loooove it Enjoy

12.01.2022 Home Made Aloe Vera Gel with Australian Bush Mint Ingredients 1 cup of Aloe Vera Gel... 1/4 cup of Olive Oil 1 teaspoon of Xanthan Gum 1/4 teaspoon of citric acid 1/2 teaspoon of alcohol 1 teaspoon of ascorbic acid (Vit C) Remove the Aloe Vera Gel from the skin, you will need one cup. The older the Aloe the better but my plants are only one year old:) Mix in the blender 1 cup of Aloe Vera and the citric acid and ascorbic acid. Blend until smooth. In a jar pour your olive oil and stir in the cornflower starch. Then add this to your blender and mix well. Pour this into the blender with the alcohol and blend. Then add your favourite essential oil. I used 10 drops of Australian Bush Mint and blended for a very short time Apply loving to your skin and store in the fridge N.B. After 6hrs in the fridge I noticed that the Aloe was quite running ....still very useable on the skin but just liquidy! The actual recipe called for Xanthan Gum but because I didnt have it on hand so I replaced it with cornstarch! So I have Xanthan Gum on my next shopping list:)

10.01.2022 Soooo what does one do during lockdown? Return to traditional as sacred foods that have been the backbone of health practises which were implemented by the generations that went before us...... I grew up with limited knowledge and traditions from the past. Butter never came into scope until 2007/8 when I started purchasing it for my kitchen to use in cooking and nutrition. I was always scared of fat!... Well that changed as I grew to know the health benefits . Butter is a sacred food Lets talk traditional butter making with the French This is a quote from the video Because the Sun and Rain never fall the same way every year.... And it is the Sun and the Rain that are going to give flavour to the grass and the land.... Which cows have to like that which seasons are going to set to music Spring, Summer, Fall, Winter.... And to learn how to discover butter which is the result of what animals eat.... you need 3 years to learn the art of butter wood churn! Its movements from the 19th Century with milk from 2020. And its like restoring and perpetuating the qualities from our Ancestors but living in the world of today..... https://www.facebook.com/story.php?story_fbid=2986414201394903&id=1494731297498009

08.01.2022 Covid-19 lockdown recipe time! Frugal Fish Head Stock Okay quite often when Im at my local fisho shop I see a container of ugly looking fish heads and think to myself.....next time!... But recently I heard Georgi Dincov and Jodelle Jodelle talk on the benefits of extracting nutrition from the head of a fish or the necks of poultry can be a way to support thyroid function! The thyroid is the master hormone in the functions of mood, metabolism, immune function, body temperature regulation and sooo much more... Sooooo I figured that Id play around with a fish head stock and perfect it to good taste! And this has been my daily drink packed full of gelatin from the tongue, skin eyes. The nutrition exctracted from the all parts the head are really mind blowing! The head contain thyroid follicles and you also extract this very important nutrition for your body Also I have realised that the head meat can be used as well so you are getting so much bang for your dollar. I made this meal for well under $20 and got 250gm off head meat and about 3ltrs of stock. And the best thing is it doesnt take much cooking time. After you bring the pot to boil, its done in 20mins Fish Head Soup Thats Full of Thyroid Goodness & Frugal as!!! Ingredients 3 tablespoons coconut oil 1 large shallot, chopped 3 pieces of garlic finely grated or crushed 1 small inch piece of grated fresh ginger Salt 1/2 white wine vinegar 2 large non oily fish heads(**ask the fisho to remove the gills as it taints the stock and makes it bitter A handful of dried mushrooms (optional) 2 to 4 bay leaves 1 star anise pod (optional) 1/2 teaspoon fennel 1 teaspoons dried or fresh thyme 1 pinch of saffron (secret ingredient:) 1/2 cup to 1 cup of sugar (I use panella) 3litres of water or enough to cover the fish heads Instructions Heat the coconut oil in a large stockpot over medium-high heat. When the oil is hot, add the chopped shallots and cook, stirring often, until they are all soft, but not browned. Add the white wine and all the remaining ingredients, plus enough water to cover everything by about an inch or two. Bring to a rolling boil, add the fish heads. You want to bring them to a boil, soon as that has happened turn the heat back!!!! your heat should be a very slow simmer! Do this for precisely 20mins, and keep an eye on things to ensure that it doesnt get to hot or boil. Set a fine mesh strainer over a big bowl, or another stock pot. Carefully remove the fish heads and place them on a roasting to cool! (Later you can remove the head meat, the white flesh. I got enough head meat for 2!!! Extra meals Now....Pour the stock through this set-up into the bowl. When you get to the bottom, skip the dregs down there, as they will be filled with sediment. The stock will never be as good as it is right now, but it can be refrigerated for up to a week and frozen for up to 6 months. This recipe cost me under $20... fish heads were $6 each!

06.01.2022 Don’t forget about about food being medicine! I’m about to grill my weekly oyster lunch.... and partake in healthy habits. There are plenty of yummy ways to consume oysters from Raw to Kilpaltrics.... I love mine with this kick arse bbq sauce and pecorino cheese ....... It turns out they’re a rich source of these key nutrients when eaten: Vitamin D. Copper. Zinc. Selenium. Iron. Vitamin B12. These are excellent benefits, especially for women over age 40. Enjoy

06.01.2022 Here’s my availability for the weekend ahead: Saturday 5/9: 9am, 2pm, 3pm, 4pm

06.01.2022 I have found a very option to my raw carrot salad. I have been consuming the raw carrot salad daily as its recommended by Dr Ray Peat to help remove endotoxins by adding essential fibre to help detox. Its a great way to support thyroid health too White Button Mushrooms The Nutrition Coach Emma Sgourakis talks about the proper preparation methods for this yummy mushroom recipe.... Why you dont want to eat them raw or undercooked: The things to caution about mushrooms are the toxic compounds that they contain; namely hydrazine and agaritine. Hydrazine especially is hepatotoxic (see here), so you never want to eat mushrooms raw or undercooked, especially not in such quantities. Cooking mushrooms very well (for 1-3 hours) removes virtually all of the hydrazine and most of the agaritine. So here is how I prepared my mushrooms You will need: A large pot to cook in 3litres Water 1kg of Mushrooms (I like to batch cook large amounts for the week ahead) Slice mushrooms thinly (I used my blender to make the job easy). Put the mushrooms in a large pot (uncovered, without the lid) and boil for a minimum of 1-3hrs but the longer the better! Make sure your exhaust fan is on to remove all of the toxins that the mushrooms will release. Here is a link to Emmas website page for more information on her Mushroom Recipe: http://www.thenutritioncoach.com.au//how-i-prep-mushrooms/

02.01.2022 Food Prep Sundays And boy does it make the world of a difference to the week ahead! This is my essential fibre food that helps keep the digestive system moving. These two foods when prepared properly help the bowel to remove endotoxins, excess Estrogen and nitric oxide!... I do notice a big difference and lately I have been soaking my carrot salad as I noticed my palms were looking orange. This is sign that my liver is not removing the beta carotene and it shows slow liver function. So to remove the excess load off the liver I have been soaking the carrots in water vinegar and salt Here is a link on how to prepare the mushrooms to remove the toxins properly http://www.thenutritioncoach.com.au//how-i-prep-mushrooms/
