Issued at 12:32 pm Monday, 18 March 2019. Weather Situation: Severe thunderstorms are likely to produce damaging winds and large hailstones in the warning area over the next several hours. Locations which may be affected include Toowoomba, Brisbane, Dalby, Ipswich, Kingaroy, Caboolture, Cleveland, Gatton and Jimboomba. Queensland Fire and Emergency Services advises that people should: * Move your car under cover or away from trees. * Secure loose outdoor items. * Seek shelter, preferably indoors and never under trees. * Avoid using the telephone during a thunderstorm. * Beware of fallen trees and powerlines. * For emergency assistance contact the SES on 132 500. The next warning is due to be issued by 3:35 pm.

TOP PRIORITY FOR IMMEDIATE BROADCAST Severe Thunderstorm Warning - Southeast Queensland... for DESTRUCTIVE WINDS, HEAVY RAINFALL and LARGE HAILSTONES For people in Ipswich, Scenic Rim, Lockyer Valley and parts of Logan, Somerset, Southern Downs, Dalby, South Burnett, Toowoomba, Gold Coast and Brisbane City Council Areas. Issued at 4:37 pm Thursday, 26 October 2017. Weather Situation: The Bureau of Meteorology warns that, at 4:35 pm, very dangerous thunderstorms were detected on the weather radar near Warwick and the area southeast of Dalby. These thunderstorms are moving towards the east. Very dangerous thunderstorms are forecast to affect the area east of Warwick, the area northwest of Toowoomba and Jondaryan by 5:05 pm and possibly Toowoomba, Helidon and Highfields by 5:35 pm. Other severe thunderstorms were detected on the weather radar near Beaudesert, the area south of Warwick, the area south of Toowoomba, Jandowae, Clifton and Rathdowney. They are forecast to affect the area southeast of Warwick, Nerang, Southport and Mount Tamborine by 5:05 pm and Laidley, Mulgowie, Grandchester and Rosewood by 5:35 pm. Destructive winds, heavy rainfall that may lead to flash flooding and large hailstones are likely. Queensland Fire and Emergency Services advises that people should: * Move your car under cover or away from trees. * Secure loose outdoor items. * Never drive, walk or ride through flood waters. If it's flooded, forget it. * Seek shelter, preferably indoors and never under trees. * Avoid using the telephone during a thunderstorm. * Beware of fallen trees and powerlines. * For emergency assistance contact the SES on 132 500. The next warning is due to be issued by 5:40 pm. A more general severe thunderstorm warning is also current for the Southeast Coast and parts of the Central Highlands and Coalfields, Central West, Wide Bay and Burnett, Maranoa and Warrego and Darling Downs and Granite Belt districts. Warnings are also available through TV and Radio broadcasts, the Bureau's website at www.bom.gov.au or call 1300 659 219. The Bureau and Queensland Fire and Emergency Services would appreciate warnings being broadcast regularly.
