A quick detour from Leslie Street as we ducked out of the wind and then the laughter returned as we made our way to Picnic Point. As we descended on the trail, the sun was warm and wind was gone! ... 18.01.2022 DRAYTON DALLIANCE It was an icy morning today as everyone gingerly stepped out of their cars. The air temperature threatened to hit 0 degrees, it was definitely the coldest morning this year so far. No sooner we had set forth through the picturesque Japanese Gardens and into the sleepy suburb streets. In and out of hidden laneways and then the crunch crunch as we ran across frost laden fields. Everyone intent to achieve their running goals including Sheridan who joined u...s whilst she completed her virtual ‘Gold Coast Marathon - Well done! 17.01.2022 WE ARE 'RUNNING' AGAIN Further to the government’s easing of restrictions we believe we can restart our club runs with a couple of tweaks. Our intent is to simply align with government guidelines without adding too much complexity. Starting on Sunday the 17th of May. As soon as 10 people arrive for any of the club runs, 8 people will depart. The remaining two people will run with those yet to arrive therefore eliminating the risk of anyone running alone. There are a number ...of members familiar with our regular routes and we will aim to ensure these members are spread amongst different groups. The Sunday run calendar has been updated! Physical distancing measures are still in place which means we need to maintain 1.5 metres apart and avoid physical greetings such as handshaking, hugs and kisses! We also ask everyone to be mindful of keeping post run socialising to a minimum. (https://www.covid19.qld.gov.au/help-a/essential-information) as well as the roadmap (https://www.covid19.qld.gov.au//DPC7309-COVID-19-Restricti)

16.01.2022 LANEWAYS OF NEWTOWN At 6:21 this morning the first group of runners set off to explore the laneways. At 6:30 the second group of runners set forth enjoying the crisp still morning air. 12.01.2022 * IMPORTANT UPDATE * As government guidance continues to evolve due to the pandemic situation changing every day, it's time that the club takes a more cautious and considered approach. The Prime Minister stated: People can leave their homes, but only if their travel is essential. That might be to the shops, go to work or go to the pharmacy.... People may exercise, but only in isolation Government leaders are insisting that reducing social interaction every day is imperative and it is up to Australians to make sensible decisions. If people simply behave as normal, if they act selfishly the scale of the pandemic will continue to escalate sharply. Unfortunately effective from last night, the club has decided to suspend our running calendar which includes our endorsed runs on Mon, Wed, Thurs, Fri & Sunday. As difficult as this decision is, given current guidance we need to play our part in reducing transmissibility and reducing the risk to ourselves and our families. We will continue to look out for eachother with solo activities recorded on Strava and Facebook. Keep up the training!

12.01.2022 SUNDAY RUN 6 PARKS It was a blooming marvellous run this morning. Everyone left a misty quarry car park behind and began a gentle climb up Bridge Street.
