The club has received notice from the Executive Management Committee of the Toowoomba Pistol Club Inc. that they will be hosting an Action Pistol Competition on Sunday 22.11.20. Unfortunately, this means the range will not be available for rifle shooting on that day.... The next club shoot following the TPC's competition will be Sunday 29th November.

21.01.2022 Some good attendances at the club over the last few weeks with 11 members turning out for the weekly club shoot last weekend. Blustery windy conditions made for some challenging times on the range for all who attended though some good results were recorded during the day. The next weekly club shoot is scheduled for Sunday 20th September at the usual start time of 9am.

19.01.2022 The club trialled some new Metallic Silhouettes for air rifles at the Helidon Range last Sunday. The silhouette ornaments were cut to 50% the size of the equivalent rimfire silhouettes and the rails were set out at the following distances: Chickens - 20m Pigs - 30m Turkeys - 40m ... Rams - 50m For this initial trial, we used a Hatsan .177 calibre air rifle set to a velocity of approximately 1050 ft/sec and heavy weight domed air pellets. Using a supported position (i.e front bipod and no rear rest) to ensure accuracy, we were able to record consistent hits on all the ornaments. There are a few teething issues to sort out to stop the ornaments "automatically resetting" themselves after being hit before we continue the trial. Once finalised, we should be able to offer this discipline to our members and visitors at least a couple of times each month.

Important Message for all our Toowoomba Small Bore Silhouette Rifle Club members and visitors The Management Committee of the Toowoomba Pistol Club has decided, reluctantly, to close the Toowoomba Pistol Club Ranges with immediate effect. This means no entry to the club facilities is permitted.... The health and well being of all members is the top priority and with the rapidly changing COVID-19 situation, it is believed that it is in everyone’s best interests to order an indefinite range closure. This decision will be reviewed weekly based on the best advice from Government, health authorities and club officials. The closure affects all club events, practice, working bees, meetings etc. The Executive Management Committee of the Toowoomba Small Bore Silhouette Rifle Club Inc. will continue to liaise with the Toowoomba Pistol Club Inc. and will advise members and visitors when the ranges can reopen via email and this page. If you have any questions or need any other information in relation to this matter please contact the Toowoomba Small Bore Silhouette Rifle Club Inc.
19.01.2022 A wet Easter Sunday morning saw a small turn out of 8 members to "battle" the conditions. In between the showers, the overcast and relatively benign conditions made for some excellent results for newcomers and club stalwarts alike. The next club shoot is scheduled for Sunday 11th April at the usual start time of 9am. A reminder that the Helidon Range will be closed to rifle shooting on Sunday 18th April as the Toowoomba Pistol Club Inc. will be hosting an Action Pistol competition.
18.01.2022 Only 4 members at the weekly club shoot last Sunday. 16.01.2022 With the easing of restrictions by the Queensland Government to Stage 2 as of midday on the 1st June, we are liaising with the Toowoomba Pistol Club (Helidon) Inc. concerning the resumption of shooting activity as soon as practically possible. The club has submitted a COVID-19 Management Plan to the TPC Committee of Management for approval. Once approved, we should be able to resume the regular weekly social shooting activity albeit under some very strict procedures and proto...cols. These will be forwarded to our members and published on the club's Facebook Page as soon as we receive approval from the Toowoomba Pistol Club (Helidon) Inc. to resume. We appreciate your understanding and patience at this time and look forward to getting back to the range in due course. Any questions should be directed to the President / Secretary in the first instance.
