Organisation: Toowoomba Suicide Prevention Network (TSPN) Position Title: Community Engagement Lead... Role type: Voluntary and nominated in a board capacity. Time: Approximately five-hours per month, plus community events Hours of work: Must be able to attend the monthly general meeting during work hours and attend monthly boarding meeting outside of work hours. OUR VISION: The TSPN envisions a connected community that seeks and offers lifesaving help to prevent suicide. OUR MISSION: The TSPN actively works toward improving the suicide prevention safety-net in the Toowoomba Region through engagement, education & training, and collaborative problem solving. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: The Community Engagement Lead is generally responsible for creating awareness and motivating community members to be proactive in preventing suicide. The role includes, but is not limited to: * developing and facilitating working groups that co-design community engagement activities. * creating initiatives to identify, empower, and promote community champions. * assisting the TSPN with identifying community issues and developing solutions through community engagement. DESIRED SKILLS: * experienced in event coordination, community engagement, or community development. * public speaking. * demonstrated commitment to adopting and adhering to NGO values and behaviours. Organisation: Toowoomba Suicide Prevention Network (TSPN) Position Title: Board Secretary... Role type: Voluntary and nominated Time: Approximately two-hours per week Hours of work: Must be able to attend monthly general meeting during work hours and attend monthly boarding meeting outside of work hours. OUR VISION: The TSPN envisions a connected community that seeks and offers lifesaving help to prevent suicide. OUR MISSION: The TSPN actively works toward improving the suicide prevention safety-net in the Toowoomba Region through engagement, education & training, and collaborative problem solving. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: The Secretary is generally responsible for the administrative tasks that the management committee is required to carry out, which includes, but is not limited to: convening meetings and booking rooms; dealing with inward and outward correspondence; taking the minutes of the meeting; support tendering activities; and, maintain a register of TSPN members. DESIRED SKILLS: Experienced as a Board Secretary or Senior Administrator, preferably in the NGO Sector. Highly developed communication and interpersonal skills, including the ability to liaise and consult with community members, government officials, senior external stakeholders, and Board members. Demonstrated commitment to adopting and adhering to NGO values and behaviours. Comprehension of community development, recovery-orientated practice, and suicide prevention strategies.
