01.01.2022 The Arthur Beetson Foundation (ABF) is proud to announce that the 2020 ABF QAIHC Qld Murri Carnival will take place at Redcliffe Dolphins Sporting Complex during 18-23 January 2021, with the event once again sanctioned by the QRL. This will be the 10th installment of the QMC since the first carnival was held back in 2011 at Mudgeeraba on the Gold Coast and to add that milestone this year’s event will also take place during the week of the late great Arthur Beetson’s birthday.... This year’s QMC will see a week of celebrations beginning with the Junior Murri Carnival for U6/U8/U10 & U/12 year age groups (boys & girls play together in each division with no registered teams and Deadly Choices will manage the individual registration process so stay tuned for an update about that soon). The junior event will be followed by the QMC starting with the U13/U15 & U17 Boys divisions along with the U15 & U17 Girls divisions and wrapping up the week with the Mens & Womens divisions. If you would like to register a team for the QMC please visit www.murrirugbyleague.com.au, please note there is a cap on the number of teams in each division so get in quick to secure your team’s spot in the QMC. We acknowledge that some teams may not be able to attend this event due to travel, financial constraints or the timing of the event being held in January, but in good news for those teams the QMC will return back to the original format in September 2021. Due to the current environment in relation to COVID-19, the staging of an event of this scale will be subject to public health advice and ALL community members that attend the QMC will have to adhere to the COVID Safe Plan if one has to be implemented by the QMC Committee. More information in regards to any QMC COVID Safe Plan will be released leading into the event. We invite you to help celebrate ‘Big Artie’s’ birthday in style during the 10th edition of the Qld Murri Carnival as we continue his work to better life outcomes for our mob and showcase the best of Indigenous Rugby League in Qld. If you have any questions in regards to the QMC please email [email protected] QMC Organising Committee
