25.01.2022 Had the pleasure of test driving this beautiful 1966 mustang convertible today after we fitted a new heavy duty clutch and rebuilt the Top Loader . Biggest challenge was getting parts to show up on time . ENJOY

20.01.2022 Some jobs just give you huge satisfaction. I was asked by an elderly gentleman if I could fix the gearbox in his 1930 MORRIS so i went around had look and it was a simple fix, new lid pins and weld and file the gear lever . The best part was taking this 90 year old car and its 87 year old owner for a test drive . This job was on the house.

17.01.2022 I see this time and time again people not breaking in there new ring and pinion correctly hence premature gear failure. This is the recommended process from MOTIVE gear , maybe little long as I recommend approximately 250 kms for all ratios . Ps do not break in on a Dyno.

16.01.2022 Here at Top Cog we seem to get the jobs no one else wants . This is a gearbox out of an old fork lift the thread on the pinion was badly damaged after the bearing failed so we cut a new thread , modified a new nut now we just wait for the bearings to arrive and reassemble .

15.01.2022 You may remember last year we did a highly modified Saginaw 4 speed adapted to accommodate the torque tube from the Columbia 2 speed diff. Well here it is all done . One word STUNNING a credit to the owner did all the fab work himself. 1st class.

15.01.2022 Owners of the Ford 8 baby brother to the 9 dont let this happen to you. The 8 commonly tear hardness from the pinion spigot due to pinion deflection as the pinion bearings are quite small . We now have aluminium pinion supports that accomodate 30% larger bearings take a common 9 seal and with adding the stud kit you now have one tough little 8. Ps we also have 1350 ser yokes to suit

13.01.2022 The Top Loader (aussie 4 speed ) now has all it’s jewellery fitted . HURST indy shifter with right hand drive shift lever reposition and a super neat hydraulic throw out bearing. Should look a treat under the Holden panel van .

13.01.2022 Another VE rear done . Fitted with 4:1 gears , Torqueworm LSD and the ULTIMATE stud kit . We are trying hard to get as much strength as possible out of these units.
