09.01.2022 This photo shows Tenerife lace under construction. This form of lace originated in Tenerife (located on the island of Santa Cruz de Tenerife - the largest islan...d of the Canary Islands). The origins of Tenerife lace date back to the 17th century and was inspired by Spanish Sol lace. Tenerife lace is built on circular patterns built up on a skeleton of woven threads. By the 19th century, Tenerife lace was being modified and had sparked the development of related lace forms known as Tenerife in Spain and Ñandutí in Paraguay. In the 1930s - 1940s Tenerife lace was sometimes called Polka Spider Web Lace. Image courtesy of http://rendatenerife.blogspot.com//renda-tenerife-renda-nh #InProgress #TenerifeLace

02.01.2022 It is an exciting time as the reopening of QCWA Gordonvale Branch moves closer to becoming a reality. At this time, a group of ladies have been meeting and have... set the goal of becoming a Branch. For this to happen we are needing to increase our numbers. If you would like to make new friends with ladies who are passionate about the Gordonvale Community come along to our December meeting.
