20.01.2022 https://www.topgear.com.au Receiving some constructive review on our TSS32 model. See below. Thanks. Trax models 1960 Chevrolet Bel Air Sedan.... The lead-in pic, a 1960 Chevrolet Bel Air sedan, is a recent release by Trax in their Select series. Like the Pontiacs of the time, Chevrolets were imported into Australia for assembly from completely knocked down [CKD] kits. This model was the first of the V8 engined Chevs imported into Australia from the U.S. and fitted with a 283 cubic inch V8, though Chevrolets were available with a V8 engine from 1955 in the U.S. The previous 1959 Australian Chevrolet models were only powered by the 235 cubic inch six cylinder engine. In the U.S., the Bel Air models sat below the Impala, but for Australia, the interior was upgraded and the seat covers were replaced in leather. With the exception of the windscreen, all glass was supplied locally as well as door trims, carpets and tyres. Oddly, the 1960 Chevrolet Bel Air was fitted with the same RHD converted dash as the 1959 models. I also noticed that as a point of accuracy, the Trax Bel Air model has twin tail lights as was fitted to the U.S. Bel Air models, whereas the Impala models had the triple tail light panels. This Select series model appears accurate to scale in its overall appearance with high detail in the chrome grille and bumper bars, side trims and hubcaps. The body paintwork is excellent and the interior, though being a resin model without opening doors, is still spot-on as far as the eye can see. I like the model and consider it one of the best Select Series products so far. Terry. See more
