04.01.2022 Who cleans up after dinner? We roll the dice in our household! Ever since our boys were young we have rolled the dice to decide who cleans up and who feeds the dog. (whoever cooks does not have to roll). No-one argues with the dice. Even when my boys were young.. there were no arguments - the dice said it is your turn - so it is...they are now 16 (nearly 17) and 20 and we still do it every night. Even guests have to roll. It is based on a German game called Mexi (my husband...s (@berndwinter) sister, Ellen (not on insta - whaaat?), first put us onto this game - she also has 2 boys and worked well for her!. You roll with 2 dice in a cup. 21 is the best and you get an extra night off if you roll 21 being a (2+1, which is a mexi) 31 (3+1) is the lowest combination you can roll (good chance you will be cleaning up!). A double is higher than any single combination if you roll 66 (6+6) being the highest double (called a pasch), 11 being the lowest pasch, which still beats 65. We roll for cleaning up first, then for feeding my dog (#shadow_my_husky). Whoever has to clean up does not have to roll for the dog. - Clear as mud? . Try it and see how it goes in your household! It was a game-changer for after-dinner arguments for us. And its kind of fun... I love it when I have to defend a winning streak :) .
