24.01.2022 Hi All, a couple of snaps from the other day..........Kids getting in on the action - the big snapper went 7 kgs! a great catch for this time of year. We have had the past few days off due to the wind but are looking forward to getting back out there tomorrow. 22.01.2022 Hi All, here are some of our recent highlights. haven't been out much in recent weeks - Weather mainly the hurdle and we squeezed in a little holiday but we are now refreshed and ready to tackle the upcoming Xmas season. We are now in the CRABBING CLOSURE so keep that in mind when booking. The fishing has been pretty good for this time of year, Definitely not firing but some great fish getting boated including a few SNAPPER still around over the 80cm mark. still haven't got a WAHOO or MAHI MAHI yet but expect that to happen in the next couple of full-day charters. 15.01.2022 Hi all, some of our recent highlights. I've got availbility Thursday on a full day(9hrs $230) and Saturday afternoon on a 1/2day(5hrs $150). We have been busy when the weather allows and there have been a few good quality fish around - kingfish, pearlies, tuskies, amberjack, squire plus plenty of other species. There have been some slow days too, really hot and cold, heaps of fish one morning go to the same place the next and get next to nothing, but that's not unusual for this time of year.

11.01.2022 UPDATE. The health and safety of our visitors and employees at Top Catch Charters is our highest priority. We are closely monitoring the covid-19 situation and responding to all guidelines issued by the health department. We have had the tourism industry torn apart and it is hurting. We have processed a lot of refunds for the upcoming 2 months to people out of state and New Zealand who are either in lock down or logistically can't get here. ... The banks announcement today to aid small to medium business is a huge relief and the governments grants are a start, So the show must go on until it is deemed unsafe to do so Top Catch Charters remains open for business. We will have to take precautions- Relevant medical questions will be asked. Anyone who has any flu symptoms or been in contact with anyone who has contracted the virus will not take part in the charter and be refunded, we will appreciate everyone honesty in this situation. We will be Practising social distancing to the best of our ability and will implement extra hand washing facilities and an increased cleaning regime of common areas and touch points. Staff and passengers will be reminded of hygiene practices to protect themselves and others around them. We will be changing our maximum passenger limit to 10 people until further notice to aid social distancing. On a Brighter note the weather has now eased and our first trip back out is tomorrow. The fishing was great in the lead up to the last blow and I've attached some photos. We expect the same with the lead up to the new moon. We have lost the tourism side of the industry for the near future we will be relying on the locals from SEQ for support to get us through and thankyou in advance. Who knows' for the first time in history it might be easier to come and catch a fish than go to supermarket and get meat! and YES we have plenty of toilet paper supply lol. Looks like we might have a few days off this week but hopefully its fine by the weekend! we have had some really good days lately and some really slow ones, but that's fishing and common for August. Here are some recent highlights

08.01.2022 ********NEWS ALERT******** Its good news too, CORONA VIRUS CAN'T BEAT US, WE ARE BACK IN BUSINESS! We are now taking bookings for next weekend. We are allowed to operate as long as we follow the safety directives put out by the health department. social distancing is the biggest hurdle on a boat to overcome, so to maintain 4 square meters, passenger numbers will be capped at 6 people for the time being. Following the guidelines will include what we were doing before we shut d...own back in march plus some new ones to keep our staff and passengers safe. Processes in place will be - SOCIAL DISTANCING (top priority and will be enforced) INCREASED CLEANING REGIME (Common areas and touch points). EXTRA HAND WASH STATION (Staff and passengers will be reminded of good hygiene practices and extra hand sanitizer and soap will be provided) HEALTH AND TRAVEL QUESTIONS WILL BE ASKED (anyone with flu symptoms will not participate and if any Aussies return from overseas cannot participate until they have quarantined). COVID SAFE APP (Staff will be required to download the app to ensure we are not putting anyone at risk and customers will be encouraged to do the same). OUR MAXIMUM PASSENGER NUMBER OF 6 (to adhere to social distancing requirements). FOOD SUPPLIED WILL STOP (Customers will have to bring their own food for the time being to eliminate risk. Bottled water and cans of soft drink will still be supplied). We are relying on the local support for the time being and are confident the 10 years of service, building relationships and clientele, will get us through until we return to normal operation. We do still have the costs to cover and 6 people at our normal prices wont do it, so until we can take 12 people again the following prices will be in effect 5hrs $175 7hrs $215 9hrs $255 We are in the process of updating the prices on our website and online booking platform. As always the trip is subject to weather and now to getting the 6 passengers to cover the expenses. We are optimistic about the future again and I couldn't be in a happier space today. 06.01.2022 MERRY XMAS AND A HAPPY NEW! This post is a bit overdue but we would like to wish everybody a happy and safe holiday season filled with family and laughter. We would like to thank everyone who has supported us through this tumultuous year! We are not quite but almost back to normal but recognise are not and our best wishes to those who are still going through lock downs and closures. 04.01.2022 Here are some of the holiday highlights, had some really good days so far and some slower but overall very happy with results. Its good to be back!! We landed our biggest snapper for the season so far at 81cm well done Kerry, also been getting ready for the snapper and pearl perch closure, that is coming into effect on the 15th by honing our soft plastic and jigging skills, ready to target cobia, kingfish and amberjack on the full day charters.

04.01.2022 Hi All, Haven't been out quite as much as we would have liked lately. Between the snapper/pearl perch closure and the weather it has been hard to line things up. However when we have been out in the last fortnight it has fished quite well. We have been hitting different ground and trying different methods of fishing to what we are used to at this time of year and while we are getting the odd snapper and pearl perch as by-catch (released of course), the other species are in great size and numbers and while I do miss snapper fishing I am enjoying the lure fishing and jigging for cobia, kingfish and amberjack at the moment.
